Air Vent - Instrument Panel - Passenger (LHD) (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the IP sub-assembly. See Sub Assembly - Instrument Panel (Remove and Install).
  2. Disconnect the air wave ventilation connectors (x4).

    Note
    Position the sub-assembly upside down on a protective surface to access the connectors.
  3. Remove the screws (x5) that attach the aero glass assembly to the instrument sub-assembly, and then release aero glass assembly from the sub-assembly.
    2.5 Nm (1.8 lbs-ft)

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
  4. Rotate the aero glass assembly forward to release the tabs (x8) that attach the assembly to the instrument panel sub-assembly.
  5. Remove aero glass assembly from IP sub-assembly
  6. Remove the screws (x4) that attach the front passenger instrument air vent to the instrument panel sub-assembly, and then remove the air vent from the sub-assembly.
    2 Nm (1.5 lbs-ft)

    • Torx T20 socket

Install

  1. Position the front passenger instrument air vent to the instrument panel sub-assembly, and then install the screws (x4) that attach the air vent to the sub-assembly.
    2 Nm (1.5 lbs-ft)

    • Torx T20 socket
  2. Position the aero glass assembly into the instrument panel sub-assembly.

    Note
    Align the tabs (x8) from the sub-assembly to aero lens assembly.
  3. Rotate the instrument panel sub-assembly rearward to engage the tabs (x8) that attach the sub-assembly to the aero glass assembly.
  4. Install the screws (x5) that attach the aero glass assembly to the instrument sub-assembly.
    2.5 Nm (1.8 lbs-ft)

  5. Connect the air wave ventilation connectors (x4).

    Position the sub-assembly upside down on a protective surface to access the connectors.
  6. Install the instrument panel sub-assembly and all other parts that were removed for access. See Sub Assembly - Instrument Panel (Remove and Install).
  7. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  8. Run the ODIN routine TEST-SELF_VCRIGHT_X_AIRWAVE-FIRST-ROW-RIGHTvia Toolbox: (link).
  9. Disconnect the laptop from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
