Decor - Instrument Panel - Main (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Remove the LH and RH middle A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).

Use a T20 to remove the fastener the attaches the outboard end of the instrument panel décor to the instrument panel.
- Remove the RH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).

Use a T20 to remove the fastener the attaches the outboard end of the instrument panel décor to the instrument panel.
- Adjust the steering column fully rearwards and fully downwards.
- Open the hood.
- Power off the vehicle from the touchscreen.
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Disconnect the Low Voltage (LV) battery and the first responder loop. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).

Release the clips (x4) that attach the phone dock to the instrument panel.
NotePull up at the bottom and swing out from under the instrument panel.

Release the clip, and then disconnect the electrical connectors (x3) that attach the phone dock to the instrument panel. Remove the center console phone dock from the vehicle.
CAUTIONRelease the connector locks before pulling straight out of each socket to avoid damage.
- Remove the touchscreen, but do not remove the display housing mechanism. See Touchscreen (HW3) (Remove and Replace).
- Release the clips (x4) that attach the IP closout panel, and then remove the closeout panel.

Release the clips (x15) that attach the main instrument panel decor to the instrument panel, and then remove the decor from the vehicle.
Install

Secure the clips (x15) that attach the main instrument panel decor to the instrument panel.

Install the IP closout panel.

Use a T20 to install the fasteners (x2) that attach the outboard ends of the instrument panel décor to the instrument panel.
- Install the touchscreen. See Touchscreen (HW3) (Remove and Replace).

Secure the service panel electrical connector.

Secure the diagnostic and CAN harnesses to the service panel.

Install the service panel.

Install the phone dock electrical connections (x3).

Install the phone dock.
Note4 tabs. Slide the datums forward into the instrument panel, and then secure the tabs down into the center console.
- Reconnect the first responder loop and the LV battery. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
- Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Close the hood.
- Adjust the steering column back to its original position.
- Install the LH and RH instrument panel end caps. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH and RH middle A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
