Bracket - Passive Hood Strut - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the hood.
  2. With assistance, release the clip that attaches the LH hood strut to the hood strut bracket, and then set the hood strut aside.
  3. With assistance, remove the nuts that attach the LH passive hood strut bracket to the vehicle, and then remove the bracket from the vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm deep socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench

Install

  1. With assistance, position the LH passive hood strut bracket onto the vehicle, and then install the nuts that attach the bracket to the vehicle.
    15 Nm (11.1 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm deep socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
  2. With assistance, position the LH hood strut onto the hood strut bracket, and then fasten the clip.
  3. Close the hood.
