Brake Lines - Rear - LH to Sill (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  2. Connect to the vehicle using a laptop equipped with Toolbox 3. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  3. Release the parking brake caliper. See Park Brake Caliper - Release.
  4. Disconnect Toolbox 3 from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  5. Remove all four wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  6. Remove the rear diffuser. See Diffuser - Rear Fascia (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the HV battery. See HV Battery (AWD) (Remove and Install).
  8. Remove the rear subframe assembly. See Subframe Assembly - Rear (Remove and Install) or Subframe Assembly - Rear (Plaid) (Remove and Install).
  9. Position an oil drain underneath the LH rear corner of vehicle.
  10. Release the clips that attach the brake line junction blocks.
  11. Disconnect the side sill brake pipe assembly from the LH rear brake line.
  12. Remove the bolts that attach the brake junction block to the RH sill.
  13. Disconnect the LH rear brake hose from the LH rear brake line. Catch any brake fluid lost in the oil drain.
  14. Remove the clips (x7) that attach the LH rear brake line to the body and remove the brake line from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Position the brake line to the vehicle and install the clips (x7) that attach the LH rear brake line to the vehicle.
  2. Connect the LH rear brake hose to the LH rear brake line.

  3. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the brake junction block to the RH sill.

  4. Connect the side sill brake pipe assembly to the LH rear brake line.

    12mm, 16 Nm
  5. Install the clips that attach the sill brake line junction blocks to the vehicle.
  6. Install the rear subframe assembly. See Subframe Assembly - Rear (Remove and Install) or Subframe Assembly - Rear (Plaid) (Remove and Install).
  7. Install the HV battery. See HV Battery (AWD) (Remove and Install).
  8. Install the rear diffuser. See Diffuser - Rear Fascia (Remove and Replace).
  9. Bleed the LH and RH rear brake calipers. See Brake Fluid Bleed/Flush (Remove and Replace).
  10. Install all four wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  11. Hold the brake pedal and select Park on the touchscreen to disable EPB service mode.
  12. Perform an alignment check. See Four Wheel Alignment Check.
