Ground Strap - Front Drive Unit (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install).
  2. Use a bungee cord to support the weight of the AC compressor.
  3. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the AC compressor bracket to the Multisystem beam.
  4. Remove the captive bolt that attaches the ground strap to the front drive unit from the front drive unit.
  5. Remove the bolt that attaches the front drive unit ground strap to the LH casting, and then remove the strap from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Install the front drive unit ground strap to the LH casting, and then install the bolt that attaches the strap to the casting.
    15 Nm (11.1 lbs-ft)
  2. Install the captive bolt that attaches the ground strap to the front drive unit.
    5.5 Nm (4.1 lbs-ft)
  3. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the AC compressor bracket to the Multisystem beam.
    31 Nm (22.9 lbs-ft)
  4. Remove the bungee cord from under the AC compressor.
  5. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install).
