Bumper Beam - Front (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Remove the front fascia assembly. See Fascia Assembly - Front (Remove and Install).

Use right-angle needle nose pliers, in
conjunction with a large wrench or pliers to act as a fulcrum, to pry out the clips (x4)
that attach the bumper beam foam to the bumper beam.
WarningUse caution to avoid personal injury. Do not apply pressure to the foam.

Disconnect the front bumper
accelerator sensor electrical connector.
NoteDO NOT push down on the red locking tab. Pull the tab away from the connector until the connector is unlocked, and then continue pulling to release the connector.

Remove the bolt that attaches the
front bumper accelerator sensor to the vehicle, and then remove the sensor from the
vehicle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench

Disconnect the front shotguns
accelerator sensor electrical connector.
NoteDO NOT push down on the red locking tab. Pull the tab away from the connector until the connector is unlocked, and then continue pulling to release the connector.

Remove the bolt that attaches the
front shotguns accelerator sensor to the vehicle, and then remove the sensor from the
vehicle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench

Remove the front nuts that attach the
front bumper beam to the carrier.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 15 mm deep socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- 3 in extension

Remove rear nuts that attach the front
bumper beam to carrier.
CAUTIONBe careful not to damage the active shutter.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 15 mm deep socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- 3 in extension

Remove the bolts that attach the front
bumper beam to the vehicle, and then remove the assembly from the vehicle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- 6 in extension
Install

Position the front bumper beam onto
the vehicle, and then install bolts (x2).Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- 6 in extension

Install the rear nuts (x4) that attach
the front bumper beam to the carrier.CAUTIONBe careful not to damage the active shutter.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 15 mm deep socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- 3 in extension

Install the front nuts that attach the
front bumper beam to the carrier.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 15 mm deep socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- 3 in extension

Position the front shotguns
accelerator sensor into the vehicle, and then install the bolt that attaches it to the
vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench

Connect the front shotguns accelerator
sensor electrical connector, and then push the red locking tab into the connector to
engage the connector lock.

Position the front bumper accelerator
sensor into the vehicle, and then install the bolt that attaches the sensor to the
vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench

Connect the front bumper accelerator
sensor electrical connector, and then push the red locking tab into the connector to
engage the connector lock.

Position the bumper beam foam onto the
bumper beam, and then install the clips (x4).
Tip: Bend the clip tabs downward to ease installation.
