Trim - Upper - Liftgate (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the liftgate.
  2. Release the clips (x8) that attach the lower liftgate trim to the liftgate, then disconnect the electrical connectors (x2), and then remove the trim from the vehicle.
    CAUTION
    Do not let hang or drop quickly the lower liftgate trim, otherwise damage to the electrical connectors will result.
  3. Remove the liftgate speaker grille. See Grille - Speaker - Liftgate (Remove and Replace).
  4. Release the clips (x10) that attach the liftgate upper trim to the liftgate, and then remove the trim from the vehicle.
    Note
    Remove the high mounted brake light bracket off of the liftgate upper trim. (x2 clips).

Install

  1. Fasten the clips (x10) that attach the liftgate upper trim to the liftgate.
    Note
    Start to install one side by clipping into the Body In White (BIW) bracket, then fasten the clip in the center, and then the rest of the trim clips to the BIW bracket.
  2. Install the liftgate speaker grille. See Grille - Speaker - Liftgate (Remove and Replace).
  3. Connect the electrical connectors (x2), and then fasten the clips (x8) that attach the lower liftgate trim to the liftgate.
  4. Close the liftgate.
