Hinge - Hood - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Open the hood.

With assistance, remove the nuts (x2)
that attach the LH hood strut common bracket to the hood, and then set the hood strut
aside. Repeat this step for the RH side of the vehicle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm deep socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench

With assistance, remove the nuts (x4)
that attach the LH and RH hood hinges to the hood assembly, remove the hood from the
vehicle, and place it on a padded surface.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm deep socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench

Remove the bolts that attach the LH
hood hinge to the vehicle, and then remove the hinge from the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm deep socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
Install

Position the LH hood hinge onto the vehicle, and then install the bolts that attach
the hinge to the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm deep socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench

With assistance, position the hood assembly onto the vehicle, and then install and
hand-tighten the nuts (x4) that attach the LH and RH hood hinges to the hood
assembly.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm deep socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench

With assistance, position the RH hood strut common bracket onto the hood, and then
install the nuts (x2) that attach the bracket to the hood. Repeat this step for the LH
side of the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm deep socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- Close the hood.

Check the gaps between the hood and
CVIS points.
NoteMeasure 10x points labeled in image. Refer to CVIS for current specification targets.
- Open the hood.

Adjust the hood as necessary to
achieve gap target, and then hand tighten the nuts that attach the LH and RH hood hinges
to the hood assembly
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm deep socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench

Check the gaps between the hood and CVIS points.

Tighten the nuts (x2) that attach the
bracket to the hood. Repeat this step for the LH side of the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm deep socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench

Check the flushness between hood and
CVIS points.

Adjust the overslams on the hood
assembly to achieve flushness specification target.

Check the flushness between hood and CVIS points.
