Skidplate - Front (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Raise the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  2. Remove the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Remove and Replace).
  3. Release the clips (x4) that attach the LH and RH front wheel arch liners to the front skid plate.
  4. Remove bolts (x2) that attach the front skid plate to the LH and RH body sills.
  5. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the front skid plate to the front body casting.
  6. Remove the smaller bolts (x2) that attach the front skid plate to the front subframe.
  7. Remove the larger bolts (x4) that attach the front skid plate to the front subframe, and then remove the skidplate from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Position the front skid plate to the front subframe, and then hand-install all of the bolts (x10) to be hand tight.

  2. Tighten the larger bolts (x4) that attach the front skid plate to the front subframe.
    77 Nm (56.8 lbs-ft)
    70 Nm (51.6 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Vehicles built after July 25th, 2024 are equipped with new fasteners (PN: 1471189-00-A). If the vehicle is equipped with the new fasteners, torque the bolts 77 Nm. If the vehicle was built on or before July 25th, 2024, and is equipped with the old fasteners (PN: 113014-00-A), torque the bolts to 70 Nm.
  3. Tighten the smaller bolts (x2) that attach the front skid plate to the front subframe.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
  4. Tighten the bolts (x2) that attach the front skid plate to the front body casting.
    60 Nm (44.2 lbs-ft)
  5. Tighten the bolts (x2) that attach the front skid plate to the LH and RH body sills.
    30 Nm (22.1 lbs-ft)
  6. Fasten the clips (x4) that attach the LH and RH front wheel arch liners to the front skid plate.
  7. Install the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Remove and Replace).
  8. Lower the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
