Hinge - Door - Rear - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH doors and lower the LH windows.
  2. Use a floor jack to support the LH rear door.

    Note
    Protect painted surface with a soft object.
  3. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH lower rear door hinge to the door assembly.
    31 Nm (22.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm ratcheting combination flex head wrench
  4. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH lower rear door hinge to the vehicle.
    52 Nm (38.3 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm ratcheting combination flex head wrench
  5. Remove the LH lower rear door hinge from the vehicle.

    Note
    Raise the door support as necessary to provide clearance.

Install

  1. Position the LH lower rear door hinge into the vehicle.
  2. Partially close the LH rear door, and then install the bolts (x2) that attach the LH lower rear door hinge to the vehicle.
    52 Nm (38.3 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm ratcheting combination flex head wrench
  3. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the LH lower rear door hinge to the door assembly.
    31 Nm (22.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm ratcheting combination flex head wrench
  4. Remove the floor jack from the LH rear door.
  5. Close the LH doors.
  6. Check the gap and flushness between the LH rear door and surrounding components.

    Note
    Measure spots (x4) labeled in example image. Refer to CVIS for current specifications.
  7. Open the LH doors.
  8. Use IPA wipes to clean the body side lower hinge bolts.
  9. Apply touch up paint to the body side lower hinge bolts as needed.
  10. Raise the LH windows and close the LH doors.
