Fascia Assembly - Front (HW4) (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the front license plate base bracket and front license plate molding painted bracket from the old front fascia so that they can be installed on the replacement fascia in a later step. See Base Bracket - License Plate - Front (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the front fascia assembly. See Fascia Assembly - Front (Remove and Install).
  3. Disconnect the LH front fog light electrical connector. Repeat this step for the RH fog light electrical connector.

    CAUTION
    Do not push down on the red tab. Pull the red tab to disengage the lock, and then pull again to release the headlight electrical connector.
  4. Remove the LV jumper wires (x2) from the tow hook cover.

    Note
    Squeeze the retaining tabs together and gently remove the jumper wires from the tow hook cover.
  5. Disconnect the front Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) module electrical connector.

    CAUTION
    Do not push down on the red tab. Pull the red tab to disengage the lock, and then pull again to release the BLE electrical connector.
  6. Disconnect the radar heater electrical connector.

    Pull the red tab to disengage the lock, and then disconnect the radar heater electrical connector.
  7. Disconnect the pedestrian warning speaker electrical connector, and then release the electrical harness from the edge clip that is located on the RH side of the front fascia valance.

    CAUTION
    Do not push down on the red tab. Pull the red tab to disengage the lock, and then pull again to release electrical connector.
  8. Release the clips (x10) that attach the electrical harness to the front fascia assembly, and then remove the electrical harness from the fascia.
  9. Remove the screws (x3) that attach the RH front fog light to the front fascia assembly. Repeat this step for the LH front fog light.
    1.8 Nm (1.3 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 bit
  10. Release the retaining tabs (x4) that attach the RH front fog light, and then remove the RH front fog light from the front fascia assembly. Repeat this step for the LH front fog light.
  11. Remove the push clips (x8) that attach the valance to the front fascia assembly.
  12. Remove the nuts (x2) that attach the valance to the front fascia assembly.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket

    Note
    Release the LH and RH corners of the valance from the front fascia assembly.
  13. Remove the screws (x2) that attach the front fascia grille to the front fascia assembly.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 bit
  14. Release the tabs (x11) that attach the front fascia grille to the front fascia assembly, and then remove the grille from the fascia.
  15. Remove the screw that attaches the T badge support to the front fascia assembly.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 bit
  16. Release the tabs (x4) that attach the T badge support to the front fascia assembly, and then remove the T badge support from the fascia.

Install

  1. Put the new front fascia assembly on a padded workbench.
  2. Locate the scribe lines on the front fascia assembly for the heater grid installation.

    The scribe lines are located on the center of the front fascia assembly.
  3. Clean the installation area with Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) wipes.

    Allow 1 minute for dry time before continuing to the next step.
  4. Remove the adhesive backing on the LH side of the radar heater, align the bottom corner onto the scribe lines, and then adhere the bottom portion of the radar heater onto the front fascia assembly.

    Make sure to not leave any creases or bubbles as grid is adhered to the front fascia assembly.

    Alignment of the grid along the scribe lines is key to radar operation.
  5. Remove the adhesive backing on the center of the radar heater, align the bottom onto the scribe line, and then adhere the middle portion onto the front fascia assembly.

    Make sure to not leave any creases or bubbles as grid is adhered to the front fascia assembly.

    Alignment of the grid along the scribe lines is key to radar operation.
  6. Remove the adhesive backing on the RH side of the radar heater, align the bottom onto the scribe line, and then fully set both sides onto the front fascia assembly.

    Make sure to not leave any creases or bubbles as grid is adhered to the front fascia assembly.

    Note
    Alignment of the grid along the scribe lines is key to radar operation.
  7. Inspect the radar heater for bubbles and creases.

    Make sure the radar heater is fully adhered onto the front fascia.

    Maximum bubble diameter is 10 mm.
  8. Secure the radar heater electrical harness with hook.
  9. Fasten the tabs (x4) that attach the T badge support to the front fascia assembly.
  10. Install the screw that attaches the T badge support to the front fascia assembly.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 bit
  11. Fasten the tabs (x11) that attach the front fascia grille to the front fascia assembly.
  12. Install the screws (x2) that attach the front fascia grille to the front fascia assembly.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 bit
  13. Install the nuts (x2) that attach the valance to the front fascia assembly.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket

    Interlock valance tabs with fascia tabs.

    Secure the LH and RH corners of the valance to the front fascia assembly.
  14. Fasten the push clips (x8) that attach the valance to the front fascia assembly.

    Hold the front fascia tabs flush with valance, if necessary.
  15. Fasten the retaining tabs (x4), and then install the screws (x3) that attach the LH front fog light. Repeat this step for the RH front fog light.
    1.8 Nm (1.3 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 bit
  16. Fasten the clips (x10) that attach the electrical harness to the front fascia assembly.
  17. Connect the pedestrian warning speaker electrical connector, and then secure it with the edge clip.

    The edge clip is located on the RH ride of the front fascia valance.
  18. Connect the radar heater electrical connector.

  19. Connect the front BLE module electrical connector.

  20. Install the LV jumper wires (x2) to the tow hook cover.

    Make sure that both wire terminals are fully seated behind the retaining tabs.
  21. Connect the LH front fog light electrical connector. Repeat this step for the RH side.

  22. Install the front fascia assembly. See Fascia Assembly - Front (Remove and Install).
  23. Install the front license plate base bracket and front license plate molding painted bracket that was removed from the old fascia onto the new fascia. See Base Bracket - License Plate - Front (Remove and Replace).
