Diagnostic Port Location

Vehicles manufactured before April 2024
The diagnostic port in Model S is located under the touchscreen, behind the IP service panel. To access the diagnostic port, release the tabs (x4) at each corner of the IP service panel.
Warning
Model S vehicles
manufactured before April 2024 are equipped with both an OBD-II J1962 port (which
does not support Diagnostic over Internet Protocol (DoIP)) and a separate diagnostic
port in the Center Console. Do not
connect an OBD-II J1962 to RJ45 Ethernet cable into an OBD-II J1962 port that
does not support DoIP. Doing so may cause damage to electronic equipment.
Vehicles manufactured April 2024 onwards
The diagnostic port in Model S is an OBD-II J1962 port that supports Diagnostic over Internet Protocol (DoIP). This diagnostic port is located in the LH footwell area.
