Striker - Hood (Remove and Replace)

20 Nm (14.7 lbs-ft)
  • Torx T40 socket
  • 3 in extension
  • Ratchet/torque wrench
 Reuse

Remove

  1. Open the hood.
  2. Use masking tape to mark the position of the hood striker to the hood assembly.
  3. Remove the two bolts that attach the hood striker to the hood.

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T40 socket
    • 3 in extension
    • Ratchet/torque wrench

Install

  1. Using the masking tape as a guide, install the hood striker to the hood, but do not fully torque the bolts.
  2. Close the hood and use the gap and flush tool to verify the hood alignment is within specification.
  3. Open the hood and adjust the striker position as necessary.
  4. Torque the bolts that attach the hood striker to the hood.
    20 Nm (14.7 lbs-ft)

  5. Remove the masking tape from the hood.
  6. Close the hood.
