Latch - Door - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the LH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove LH and RH 2nd row seat side bolsters. See Bolster - Outer - Seat - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
  5. Fold the LH 2nd row seat to the down position.

    Note
    Protect the 2nd row seat back before lowering.
  6. Remove the LH lower C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove LH middle C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Mid - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Remove the LH lower B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Fold the LH rear cabin carpet aside for access to the release cable.
  10. Release the clip that attaches the LH rear door release cable to the body.
  11. Fold the LH rear wheelhouse absorber aside for access to the closeout panel for LH rear door latch assembly, and then release the latch cable from the wheelhouse absorber.
  12. Remove the closeout panel for the LH rear door latch assembly.
  13. Release the locking tab, and then disconnect the LH rear door latch assembly electrical connector.
  14. Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear door latch to the body, and then remove the latch from the vehicle.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T30 socket

Install

  1. Position the LH rear door latch into the vehicle, and install new bolts (x2) that attach the door latch to the body.
    10 Nm (7.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T30 socket
  2. Connect the LH rear door latch assembly electrical connector, and then engage the connector lock.
  3. Install the closeout panel for the LH rear door latch assembly.
  4. Fold the LH rear wheelhouse absorber to its original position, and then install the release cable onto wheelhouse absorber.
  5. Install the clip that attaches the LH rear door release cable to the body.
  6. Fold the LH rear cabin carpet to its original position.
  7. Install the LH lower B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Install LH middle C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Mid - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Install the LH lower C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  10. Fold the LH 2nd row seat to the up position, and then remove the seat cushion protection.
  11. Install the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
  12. Install LH and RH 2nd row seat side bolsters. See Bolster - Outer - Seat - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
  13. Move the front seats to the original positions.
  14. Install the LH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  15. Install the LH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
