Noise Absorber - Motor Bay - Front Bulkhead (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the battery controller module. See Module - Battery Controller (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the brake booster assembly. See Electromechanical Brake Booster Assembly (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the steering column assembly. See Steering Column (Remove and Replace).
  4. Cut slits into the front outer noise absorber near the RH side of the vehicle.

    Note
    Cut only within the highlighted areas, This allows the absorber to slip over the harness and coolant hoses during removal.
  5. Remove the push nut and barrel clips (x2) that secure the front outer noise absorber to the bulkhead on the RH side of the vehicle.
  6. Cut slits into the front outer noise absorber near the LH side of vehicle.

    Note
    Cut only within the highlighted areas, This allows the absorber to slip over the harness and AC lines during removal.
  7. Remove the push nut that secures the lower portion of the front outer noise absorber to the bulkhead.
  8. Remove the push nut that secures the front outer noise absorber to the bulkhead on the LH side of vehicle.
  9. Slide the front outer noise absorber around the studs (x4) and remove it from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Cut slit into the new front outer noise absorber.

    Cut only within highlighted areas, This will allow the absorber to slip over both ends of the harness, AC line, and coolant hoses during installation.
  2. Position the front outer noise absorber into the vehicle.

  3. Install fastener securing front outer noise absorber to bulkhead on LH side of vehicle

    1x push nut
  4. Install fastener securing lower portion of front outer noise absorber to bulkhead

    1x push nut
  5. Install fasteners securing front outer noise absorber to bulkhead on RH side of vehicle

    1x push nut, 2x barrel clips
  6. Install the steering column assembly. See Steering Column (Remove and Replace).
  7. Install the brake booster assembly and connect the electrical connectors. See Electromechanical Brake Booster Assembly (Remove and Replace).

    Continue to the next step after connecting the ECU connector. Do not fully reassemble the vehicle yet.
  8. Install the battery controller module. See Module - Battery Controller (Remove and Replace).
