Armrest - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Open all the doors and open all the windows.
- Move the driver and front passenger seats fully forward.
- Remove the LH and RH 2nd row seat outer bolsters. See Bolster - Outer - Seat - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).

Remove and discard the bolt that
attaches the 2nd row center seat belt lower anchor to the vehicle, and then release the
lower anchor from the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 15 mm socket

Fold the LH 2nd row seat to the down
position.
NoteIf the seat cushion is not present, protect the seat as required.
- Remove the LH 2nd row seat back panel. See Back Panel – 2nd Row Seat – LH (Remove and Replace).

Fold the LH 2nd row seat to the
vertical position, but do not latch the seat back.

Release the 2nd row armrest.
NoteThe release button is located behind the 2nd row center headrest.

Release the clips (x3) and release the
hooks (x4) that attach the 2nd row armrest trim to the backrest frame, and then pull the
trim upward and out to release it from the backrest frame. Release the upholstery from
the trim.

Secure 2nd row center armrest.

Fold the LH 2nd row seat to the down
position.
NoteIf the seat cushion is not present, protect the seat as required.

Disconnect the LH 2nd row seat back
harness electrical connector.

Release the clip that attaches the LH
2nd row seat back harness to the pivot bracket.

Release the pivot bushing that
attaches the LH 2nd row seat back assembly to the pivot bracket.

Slightly tilt the LH 2nd row seat back
upward, and then pull the LH 2nd row pivot cast upward to release it from the pivot
bracket.

Release the LH 2nd row seat back from
the RH pivot, and then remove the seat back from the vehicle.
- Place the LH 2nd row seat back assembly upside down on a padded workbench.

Remove the bolt that attaches the LH
2nd row seat bolster assembly to the back frame.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket

Release the locking tab, and then
disconnect the 2nd row center armrest harness electrical connector.

Remove the nuts (x4) that attach the
2nd row armrest to the back frame.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm deep socket
- Remove the LH 2nd row armrest bun. See Bun - Armrest - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).

Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the
2nd row armrest to the back frame.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket

Manually release the retractable
datums that attach the 2nd row armrest to the seat back assembly.
NotePress and hold the datums, then pivot the armrest to the 1 o'clock position.

Release the fasteners (x2) and studs
(x4) that attach the 2nd row armrest to the seat back assembly, and then maneuver the
trim around the pivot to remove the armrest from the assembly.
Install
-
Maneuver the trim around the pivot,
and then secure the 2nd row armrest onto the seat back assembly.

Manually secure the retractable datums
that attach the 2nd row armrest the seat back assembly.
NoteEnsure the datums are engaged.

Install the bolts (x2) that attach the
2nd row armrest to the back frame.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm deep socket

Install the clips (x3) that attach the
2nd row armrest bun to the seat back assembly.
-
Install the clips (x2) that attach the
2nd row armrest bun to the seat assembly.
-
Install the clips (x2) that attach the
LH 2nd row bolster assembly to the seat assembly.
- Position the seat back assembly upside down on the padded workbench.
-
Install the nuts (x4) that attach the
2nd row armrest to the back frame.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 13 mm deep socket

Connect the LH 2nd row center armrest
harness electrical connector, and then engage the locking tab.

Install the bolt that attaches the LH
2nd row seat bolster assembly to the back frame.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
-
Position the LH 2nd row seat back into
the vehicle, and then secure the seat back into the RH pivot.
-
Slightly tilt the LH 2nd row seat back
upward, and then press the LH 2nd row pivot cast downward to secure it to the pivot
bracket.

Install the pivot bushing that
attaches the LH 2nd row seat back assembly to the pivot bracket.
-
Fasten the clip that attaches the LH
2nd row seat back harness to the pivot bracket.
-
Connect the LH 2nd row seat back
harness electrical connector.
- Fold the LH 2nd row seat to the up position.

Release the 2nd row armrest.
NoteThe release button is located behind the 2nd row center headrest.

Install the center armrest trim.
Notex1 push clip, x4 hooks, x2 clipsNoteSlide the trim down and into the 2nd row back frame.
- Fold the 2nd row armrest up.
- Fold LH 2nd row seat to the down position.
- Install the LH 2nd row seat back panel. See Back Panel – 2nd Row Seat – LH (Remove and Replace).
- Fold the LH 2nd row seat to the up position.

Install a new bolt that attaches the
2nd row center seat belt lower anchor to the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 15 mm socket
- Install the 2nd row lower seat cushion. See Seat Cushion - Lower - 2nd Row (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH and RH 2nd row seat outer bolsters. See Bolster - Outer - Seat - 2nd Row - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Restore the driver and front passenger seats back to their original position.
- Close all doors and raise all windows.
