Seat Assembly - 1st Row - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Open the LH doors and lower the LH windows.
- Move the 1st row LH seat forward.

Use a flathead screwdriver to
rotate the lock mechanism on the front seat belt linkage counterclockwise to
release it from the pretensioner, and then slide the linkage off the
pretensioner and set it aside.
CAUTIONDO NOT rotate clockwise to avoid damage to the mechanism.NoteThe linkage design may vary, but will function the same.NoteThe lock screw will remain in the horizontal position when released.NoteA light audible click will be heard when the linkage is released.
- Remove the LH 1st row seat seat track rear covers.

Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that
attach the rear of the 1st row LH seat tracks to the floor panel.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx Plus T45 socket
- Move the 1st row LH seat rearwards.
- Remove the LH 1st row seat seat track front covers. See Cover - Front - Seat Track - 1st Row Seat (Remove and Replace).

Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that
attach the front of the 1st row LH seat tracks to the floor panel.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx Plus T45 socket
- Move the seat to the middle of the track and the seat back to the most upright position.
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
- Lean the 1st row LH seat rearward to gain access to the underside of the seat.

Release the clip that attaches the
wiring harness to the seat assembly.

Release the red locking tab on the black connector, and then disconnect the LH side
body harness electrical connectors (x2) from the seat controller.

With assistance, remove the 1st row LH
seat from the vehicle.

Install

With assistance, position the 1st row
LH seat into the vehicle.
CAUTIONUse caution not to damage components during installation.
- Lean the 1st row LH seat rearward to gain access to the underside of the seat.

Connect the LH side body harness
electrical connectors (x2) to the seat controller, and then engage the red locking tab
on the black connector.

Install the clip that attaches the
wiring harness to the seat assembly.
- Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
- Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Move the LH 1st row seat forward.

Install the front seat belt
linkage to the pretensioner:

Install new bolts (x2) that attach the
rear of the 1st row LH seat tracks to the floor panel.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx Plus T45 socket
- Install the LH 1st row seat seat track rear covers.
- Move the driver seat rearward.

Install new bolts (x2) that attach the
front of the 1st row LH seat tracks to the floor panel.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx Plus T45 socket
- Install the LH 1st row seat seat track front covers. See Cover - Front - Seat Track - 1st Row Seat (Remove and Replace).
- Move the driver seat to the original position.
- Locally connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle.
- North America only: If replacing a non-FSAB (Farside Air Bag) seat with an FSAB-equipped seat, perform the following:
- Use the vehicle touchscreen to enable Service Mode. See Service Mode (Enable and Disable).
- Reinstall the vehicle software. See Firmware Reinstall - Touchscreen.
- On the vehicle touchscreen, touch , and then follow the on screen instructions.
- Close the LH doors and raise the LH windows.
