Fan - Camera - Forward Facing (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the rear view mirror. See Mirror - Rear View (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the upper camera cover. See Upper Cover - Rear View Mirror (Remove and Replace).
  3. Disconnect the forward facing camera fan electrical connector.
  4. Disconnect the single camera coax connector.
  5. Remove the screws (x3) that attach the forward facing camera fan to the vehicle.
    0.12 Nm (1 lbs-in)

    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • T6 socket
  6. Remove the forward facing camera fan by gently prying along the left side edges to release the adhesive backing from the carrier.
  7. Use IPA wipes to clean the fan area of any remaining adhesive.

    Note
    Allow 1 min to dry.

Install

  1. Peel off the adhesive backing from the new forward facing camera fan, and then position the fan into the vehicle.
  2. Install the screws (x3) that attach the forward facing camera fan to the vehicle.
    0.12 Nm (1 lbs-in)

    • T6 socket
  3. Connect the single camera coax connector.

    Note
    Perform a pull, push, pull test to ensure the connector is fully seated.
  4. Connect the forward facing camera fan electrical connector.
  5. Install the upper camera cover. See Upper Cover - Rear View Mirror (Remove and Replace)
  6. Install the rear view mirror. See Mirror - Rear View (Remove and Replace).
