Open LH front door
-
Lower both LH side windows
-
Move LH front seat forward
-
Open LH rear door
-
Remove bolts securing rear of LH front seat tracks to the floor panel
Note2x patch bolts, T45P, 34 Nm, Discard after removal
-
Move LH front seat backward
-
Remove bolts securing front of LH front seat tracks to the floor panel
Note2x patch bolts, T45P, 34 Nm, Discard after removal

Adjust position of LH front seat for easy removal
NoteMove seat to middle of track at most upright position with seat fully up off floor
-
Open hood
NoteSelect Controls > Frunk Open

Remove rear underhood apron
Note8x clips
-
Power off vehicle from center display
NoteVia Controls > Safety & Security > Power Off

Disconnect LV battery connector and First Responder Loop
Note2x connectors, Lift up and release green locking tab, Pull black connector lock outwards to release connection

Position LH seat to gain access below seat bottom and disconnect body harness from seat controller
Note2x connectors, 1x clip, Release red locking tab on black connector

Remove LH front seat from vehicle
NoteRecommend assistance, Use caution to not damage other components

Place seat on a protected surface
NoteRecommend assistance, Place seat so the underside of the seat can be accessed

Remove screw securing outer side cover from LH front seat
Note1x screw, T20, 4 Nm or 1x bolt, 8mm, 4 Nm, Ensure the front of the seat is high enough to access the T20 screw, Bolt may vary on build

Release LH front seat outboard side

Note7x clip, Carefully release outer side cover from seat, do not fully remove

Disconnect LH front outboard seat switch
Note1x connector

Remove LH front seat inboard side
shield
Note7x clips, Carefully release clips securing inboard side shield onto LH front seat

Release seat back elastic straps from seat frame
Note2x straps

Release soft trim retainers from seat frame
Note2x retainers
-
Disconnect FSC vent heat pad from seat controller
Note1x connector

Remove FSC and FSB vent head pad harnesses from seat
Note1x clip, 1x bracket, Note one harness is for the seat cushion and the other is for the seat back, The upper bracket aids in routing while the lower clip secures them

Remove LH front seat harness from seat frame bracket
Note1x fir tree clip

Remove OCS harness from SBR bracket then disconnect
Note1x connector, 1x bracket, Slide connector upward to release from bracket

Slide SBR bracket upward to release from seat frame
-
Open SBR bracket containing OCS harness and route harness between cushion and frame
Note2x tabs, Release tabs to open bracket, Routing harness will avoid getting snagged when seat foam is removed from frame

Release soft trim retainer from inboard side of seat frame
Note1x retainer

Release soft trim retainer from outboard side of seat frame
Note1x retainer

Release soft trim retainer from front end of seat frame
Note1x retainer

Position seat upright
-
Remove seat cushion from frame
-
Release seat cushion trim from below seat foam
Note1x strap

Release Velcro securing 40 seat cushion trim cover to foam pad
NoteFold back until you reach first row of hog rings
-
Remove front hog rings securing seat cushion trim cover to foam pad
Note5x hog rings, Push down on foam to allow access to rings, Verify any excess pieces have been removed from foam

Release remaining Velcro securing seat cushion trim cover to foam pad
NoteFold back until access to OCS is clear

Remove center hog rings securing seat cushion trim cover to foam pad
Note2x hog rings

Remove rear hog rings securing seat cushion trim cover to foam pad
Note3x hog rings

Remove seat cushion trim cover from foam pad
-
Position seat cushion trim cover onto foam pad for hog ring installation
-
Install rear hog rings securing seat cushion trim cover to foam pad
Note3x hog rings, Push down on foam to allow access, Place hog ring into pliers prior to installation, Start with center ring and work your way out

Install center hog rings securing seat cushion trim cover to foam pad
Note2x hog rings, Push down on foam to allow access

Secure Velcro to seat cushion bottom foam
NoteSecure up to the section where hog rings will be installed
-
Install hog rings securing seat cushion trim to foam
Note5x hog rings, Push down on foam to allow access, Place hog ring into pliers prior to installation, Start with center ring and work your way out

Install remaining portion of Velcro securing cushion trim cover to foam pad
NoteWrap remaining portion of trim cover over foam pad

Flip cushion over and secure trim strap to foam
Note1x strap, Strap located on bottom side of cushion

Install seat bottom cushion onto seat frame
NoteFeed trim between seat back trim and seat frame, Maneuver seat assembly as needed for access

Rotate seat assembly onto seat back
NoteProtect seat from damage

Install soft trim retainer onto front end of seat frame

Install soft trim retainer from outboard side of seat frame

Install soft trim retainer from inboard side of seat frame
Note1x retainer

Install OCS harness into SBR bracket
Note2x tabs, Once harness is positioned, Verify tabs are fully engaged

Slide SBR bracket downward to install onto seat frame bracket

Connect OCS harness and install onto SBR bracket
Note1x connector, 1x bracket

Secure LH front seat harness onto seat frame bracket
Note1x fir tree clip

Attach FSC/FSB vent heat pad harnesses into plastic brackets
Note1x clip, 1x bracket, Note one harness is for the seat cushion and the other is for the seat back. The upper bracket aids in routing while the lower clip secures them

Connect FSC vent heat pad from LV seat controller
Note1x connector

Install soft trim retainers onto seat frame
Note2x retainers

Install seat back elastic straps onto seat frame
Note2x straps

Position seat upright
-
Install inboard side shield onto LH front seat
Note7x clips, fully secure inboard side shield onto LH front seat

Connect LH front outboard seat switch
Note1x connector

Install LH outer side cover onto seat assembly
Note7x clip, Apply pressure to the outer seat cover to fully seat trim clips, trim should sit flush against the seat cushion

Install screw securing outer side cover to LH front seat assembly
Note1x screw, T20, 4 Nm or 1x bolt, 8mm, 4 Nm, Maneuver seat assembly as needed for access, Bolt may vary on build

Install LH front seat into vehicle
NoteRecommend Assistance, Take care not to damage surrounding components while lifting the seat into the vehicle, Gateway configuration update for cfg_frontSeattype is needed when replacing from 4876527-82-X to 4876527-72-X or newer 1st Row LHD LH Seat Assembly with 1st Row Mini-Tilt Motor Assembly

Position seat to gain access below seat bottom and connect LH side body harness to seat controller
Note2x connectors, 1x clip, Engage red locking tab on black connector

Connect First Responder Loop and LV battery connector
Note2x connectors Secure FRL first, Seat LV battery connection and push black connector lock inwards to secure, Engage green locking tab when fully seated

Install rear underhood apron
Note8x clips

Close hood
NotePress firmly in green highlighted areas (see image), Damage may result from pressure elsewhere on hood

Move LH front seat forward
-
Install bolts securing LH front seat rear tracks to vehicle
Note2x patch bolts, T45P, 34 Nm, Install new bolts

Close LH rear door
-
Move LH front seat backward
-
Install bolts securing both LH front seat front tracks to vehicle
Note2x patch bolts, T45P, 34 Nm, Install new bolts

Move LH front seat to original position
-
Connect to vehicle using Toolbox
NoteNavigate to https://toolbox.teslamotors.com and establish connection to vehicle, Select connection status icon at top right corner then select connect locally, Icon will turn green when connected, Successful connection will automatically unlock vehicle gateway and place UI in Service Mode Plus, Media converter box powered by laptop USB or 12v power outlet, Ethernet connection will provide communication, If RJ45 ethernet connector present at service panel media converter box not required, Vehicles built 4/5/2024 onwards have OBDII connection integrated into drivers lower IP cover, Use OBDII connection if this applies, Some vehicles may have both RJ45 and OBDII, If vehicle has both RJ45 and OBD-II then connect via RJ45, For local connection issues with Toolbox refer to https://toolbox.teslamotors.com/articles/43695

Select ‘Actions/Autodiag’ and search for ‘Calibration’

Select ‘PROC_VCSEATD_SEAT-CALIBRATE’, click ‘Run’, and allow routine to complete
NoteVerify no items on seat during this routine, Select ‘X’ at top right of window to close once complete

Disconnect Toolbox from vehicle and remove laptop and Diagnostics Adapter Ethernet Harness
NoteIf RJ45 ethernet diagnostic connector present media converter box not required disconnect directly from laptop using an RJ45 Ethernet cable or OBDII connection

Raise both LH side windows
-
Close LH front door
