Brake Rotors - Front - Set (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  2. Remove both front wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  3. Remove the bolt that attaches the brake hose to the LH front knuckle.
  4. Remove the LH front brake caliper from the LH front knuckle.

    Note
    Hang the brake caliper from the body of the vehicle with S-hooks.
  5. If installed, remove and discard the bolt that attaches the brake rotor to the hub.

    A new bolt will not be installed.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
  6. Repeat step 3 through step 5 for the RH side of the vehicle.

Install

  1. Position the LH front rotor to the knuckle assembly.

    Note
    It is not necessary to install the bolt that attaches the rotor to the hub.
  2. Remove the S-hook and install the bolts that attach the LH front brake caliper to the LH front knuckle.

    2x bolts, 21mm, 135 Nm
  3. Install the bolt that attaches the brake hose to the LH front knuckle.

    1x bolt, 10mm, 6 Nm
  4. Repeat step 1 through step 3 for the RH side of the vehicle.
  5. Install both front wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Press the brake pedal to seat the brake pads to the rotors.
  8. Perform a vehicle road test using a series of ABS-active stops and make sure proper brake pedal feel and performance is achieved.
