1. Open LH front door
2. Lower LH front window
3. Raise and support vehicle
   Note

   Set air suspension to "Jack Mode"

   

   

4. Open hood
   Note

   Using center display touchscreen > Quick Controls > Frunk Open

   

   

5. Remove rear underhood apron
   Note

   8x clips

   

   

6. Power off vehicle from center display
   Note

   Via Controls > Safety & Security > Power Off

   

7. Disconnect LV battery connector and First Responder Loop
   Note

   2x connectors, Lift up and release green locking tab, Pull black connector lock outwards to release connection

   

   

   

   

8. Remove LH front wheel cap
   Note

   Lift every other spoke at a time until cap is released from rim

   

   

   

9. Loosen LH front wheel
   Note

   5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm

   

   

10. Raise vehicle partially and lower onto locks
    Note

    Set vehicle to comfortable working height, Make sure there's an audible click of the locks on both sides before lowering, otherwise vehicle may tilt to the side

    

    

11. Remove LH front wheel
    Note

    5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm

    

    

12. Release clips securing front portion of the LH front wheel house liner
    Note

    7x clips, Move aside for access

    

    

13. Remove clips securing rear portion of the LH front wheel house liner and remove from vehicle
    Note

    6x clips

    

    

14. Raise vehicle fully and lower lift onto locks
    Note

    Set vehicle to comfortable working height, Make sure there's an audible click of the locks on both sides before lowering, otherwise vehicle may tilt to the side

    

    

15. Remove clips securing front aero shield
    Note

    5x push clips

    

    

    

16. Remove bolts securing front aero shield and remove from vehicle
    Note

    9x bolts, 10mm, 6 Nm

    

17. Remove clips securing front aero shield
    Note

    5x push clips

    

    

    

18. Release clips securing wheel house liner to front skid plate
    Note

    4x clips

    

    

19. Remove bolts securing front skid plate to body sill
    Note

    2x bolts, 15mm, 30 Nm

    

    

    

20. Remove bolts securing front skid plate to body casting
    Note

    2x bolts, 15mm, 60 Nm

    

21. Remove bolts securing front skid plate to front subframe and remove skid plate
    Note

    4x bolts, 15mm, 70 Nm, 2x bolts, 10mm, 10 Nm

    

    

22. Release clip securing ground cable to battery
    Note

    1x clip

    

23. Remove bolt securing ground cable to HV battery and move cable aside
    Note

    1x bolt, 10mm, 10 Nm

    

    

24. Position coolant drain container under the front of the vehicle to catch vehicle coolant

    

25. Release LH front sill coolant hose
    Note

    1x hose clip, Plug both ends of the hoses

    

26. Release LH sill coolant hose clips to body and pack
    Note

    3x clips

    

27. Place foldable funnel and absorbent material under PCS hose
    Note

    Place funnel and absorbent material underneath coolant hose

    

    

28. Release PCS outlet hose from HV battery
    Note

    1x hose clip, Plug HV battery

    

    

29. Remove foldable funnel and absorbent material from under PCS hose
    Note

    Remove all material

    

30. Release clip securing PCS hose to HV battery
    Note

    1x clip, Be careful when releasing clip and do not damage the HV battery casing

    

31. Remove PCS outlet hose from vehicle
    Note

    Remove any coolant plugs from hose, Carefully maneuver hose out from in-between HV battery and vehicle body, Note orientation of the hose during removal

    

    

    

    

    

32. Install PCS outlet hose into vehicle
    Note

    Carefully maneuver hose in between HV battery and vehicle body, Note orientation of the hose during install

    

    

    

    

    

33. Securing clip attaching PCS hose to HV battery
    Note

    1x clip

    

34. Secure LH sill coolant hose clips to body and pack
    Note

    3x clips

    

35. Secure LH front sill coolant hose
    Note

    1x hose clip, 2x hose plugs, Remove plugs and secure hose. Perform push-pull-push test

    

    

36. Place foldable funnel and absorbent material under PCS hose
    Note

    Place funnel and absorbent material underneath coolant hose

    

    

37. Secure PCS outlet hose onto HV battery
    Note

    1x hose clip, Remove any plugs and secure hose. Perform push-pull-push test

    

    

38. Remove foldable funnel and absorbent material from under PCS hose
    Note

    Remove all material

    

39. Clean area and wipe away any residual fluid
40. Route and install bolt securing ground cable to HV battery
    Note

    1x bolt, 10mm, 10 Nm

    

41. Install clip securing ground cable to battery
    Note

    1x clip

    

42. Remove coolant drain container from underneath vehicle

    

43. Position front skid plate for installation and thread in all bolts
    Note

    4x bolts, 15mm, 70 Nm, 2x bolts, 15mm, 60 Nm, 2x bolts, 15mm, 30 Nm, 2x bolts, 10mm, 10 Nm, Torque at later step

    

    

    

44. Torque bolts securing front skid plate to body casting
    Note

    2x bolts, 15mm, 60 Nm

    

45. Torque bolts securing front skid plate to body sill
    Note

    2x bolts, 15mm, 30 Nm

    

    

    

46. Torque bolts securing front skid plate to front subframe
    Note

    4x bolts, 15mm, 70 Nm, 2x bolts, 10mm, 10 Nm

    

47. Secure clips securing wheel house liner to front skid plate
    Note

    4x clips

    

    

48. Apply Loctite 222 onto front aero shield bolts and install fasteners securing front aero shield to vehicle
    Note

    9x bolts, 10mm, 6 Nm

    

    

49. Install clips securing front aero shield
    Note

    5x push clips

    

    

    

50. Lower vehicle partially and set lift onto locks
    Note

    Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered, Set vehicle to comfortable working height

    

    

51. Install LH front wheel house liner and secure clips for rear half
    Note

    6x clips

    

    

52. Install clips securing front portion of the LH front wheel house liner
    Note

    7x clips, Secure liner

    

    

53. Install LH front wheel
    Note

    5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm, Start lug nuts by hand before using power tool

    

    

54. Lower vehicle until tires are touching the ground
    Note

    Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered

    

    

    

55. Torque LH front wheel
    Note

    5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm

    

    

56. Install LH front wheel cap
    Note

    Align valve stem with cap

    

    

57. Remove coolant bottle cap

    

58. Inspect coolant level and top off as necessary
    Note

    Ensure that the fluid level is at the Max line, Top off fluid as required

    

    

59. Connect First Responder Loop and LV battery connector
    Note

    2x connectors Secure FRL first, Seat LV battery connection and push black connector lock inwards to secure, Engage green locking tab when fully seated

    

    

    

    

60. Perform the following routine using Service Mode or Toolbox (see 0005 - Service Modes): TEST_VCFRONT_X_THERMAL-COOLANT-AIR-PURGEvia Toolbox: (link)via Service Mode:
    • Thermal ➜ Actions ➜ Coolant Purge Stop or Coolant Purge Start
    • Thermal ➜ Coolant System ➜ Coolant Purge Start
    via Service Mode Plus:
    • Drive Inverter ➜ Front Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ Coolant Air Purge
    • Drive Inverter ➜ Rear Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ Coolant Air Purge
    • Drive Inverter ➜ Rear Left Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ Coolant Air Purge
    • Drive Inverter ➜ Rear Right Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ Coolant Air Purge
    • Drive Unit ➜ Front Drive Unit Replacement ➜ Coolant Air Purge
    • Drive Unit ➜ Rear Drive Unit Replacement ➜ Coolant Air Purge
    Note

    Make sure vehicle is not in drive state, Plan is still running despite the stop message, Coolant pumps will be audible, Test lasts approximately 10 mins, Putting vehicle into drive state will stop this routine, Monitor levels as required
61. Inspect coolant level and top off as necessary
    Note

    Ensure that the fluid level is at the Max line

    

    

62. Install coolant bottle cap

    

63. Install rear underhood apron
    Note

    8x clips

    

    

64. Close hood
    Note

    Press firmly in green highlighted areas (see image), Damage may result from pressure elsewhere on hood

    

65. Remove vehicle from lift
    Note

    Lower rack arms fully and remove them from under vehicle, Remove air suspension from "Jack Mode"

    

    

66. Raise LH front window
67. Close LH front door
