Module - Body Controller - Front (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  2. Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  3. Remove the LH and RH underhood aprons. See Underhood Apron - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the front underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Front (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the underhood storage unit access panel. See Underhood Storage Unit Access Panel (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the underhood storage unit carpet.
  7. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  8. Release the upper locking connectors (x2) on the front body controller module.

    Push in locking tabs, and then lift the levers to release.
  9. Release the LH middle locking connector on the front body controller module.

  10. Release RH middle locking connectors (x2) on the front body controller module.

    Slide the locking mechanism outwards to release.
  11. Release the lower locking connectors (x2) on the front body controller module.

    Slide the red locking tab outwards to release.
  12. Remove the bolt that attaches the ground cable for the front body controller module.

    10mm, 10 Nm
  13. Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the front body controller module to the body.

  14. Remove front body controller module from vehicle, and then release the ground cable from the multi system beam.

    2x locating tabs, 1x ground cable

Install

  1. Position the front body controller module for installation and secure the ground cable to the multi system beam.

  2. Install the bolts (x3) that attach the front body controller module to the body.

    10mm, 10 Nm. Start with the side bolt
  3. Install the bolt that attaches the ground cable for the front body controller module.

  4. Secure the lower locking connectors (x2) on the front body controller module.

    Engage red locking tab
  5. Secure the RH middle locking connectors (x2) on the front body controller module.

    Verify that the yellow locking tabs are fully opened. Seat connectors and mechanism will begin to engage.
  6. Secure the LH locking connector for the front body controller module.

    Verify the lever is fully opened. Seat connector and lever will begin to engage.
  7. Secure the upper locking connectors (x2) for the front body controller module.

    Verify levers are fully opened. Seat connectors and levers will begin to engage.
  8. Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  9. Connect Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  10. In Toolbox, click Actions/Autodiag, and then search for Service_Redeploy.
  11. Click UPDATE_CAN-REDEPLOYSearch for routine in ToolboxService CAN Redeployhv / Drive Inverter DIRE1L Replacement - CAN Redeployhv / Drive Inverter DIRE1R Replacement - CAN Redeployhv / Drive Inverter DIRE2 Replacement - CAN Redeployhv / Front Drive Inverter Replacement - CAN Redeployhv / Rear Drive Inverter Replacement - CAN Redeployhv / Rear Left Drive Inverter Replacement - CAN Redeployhv / Rear Right Drive Inverter Replacement - CAN Redeployhv / Front Drive Unit Replacement - CAN Redeployhv / Rear Drive Unit Replacement - CAN Redeploy, and then click Run. Allow the routine to complete.

  12. Adjust the headlights. See Headlights - Adjust - NA (Wall Method) or Headlights - Adjust - NA (Tool Method).
  13. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Replace).
  14. Install the underhood storage unit carpet.
