Air Line - Compressor to Valve Block - Air Suspension (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle on a 2 post lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  3. Perform the "Deflate All" section of Air Suspension - Pressurize / Depressurize - Full System.
  4. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  5. Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  6. Remove the LH and RH underhood aprons. See Underhood Apron - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the front underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Front (Remove and Replace).
  8. Remove the bolts (x6) that attach the front fascia bracket to the carrier.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 4 in extension
  9. Remove the push clips (x5) that attach the LH front wheel arch liner to the front fascia, and then move the liner to the side for access.
  10. Remove the bolt that attaches the front fascia to the LH fender bracket.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 4 in extension
  11. Repeat steps 9 and 10 for the RH side of the vehicle.
  12. Disconnect the front fascia electrical connectors (x2).

    CAUTION
    DO NOT push down on the red locking tab. Pull the tab away from the connector until the connector is unlocked, and then continue pulling to release the connector.
  13. Remove the bolts (x3) and release the clips that attach the front fascia valance to the front aero shield, and then release the valance from the aero shield.

    Note
    Do not remove middle bolts (x3).
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10mm socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 4 in extension
  14. With assistance, release the front fascia assembly from the fender brackets, and then pull the fascia forward to remove it from the vehicle.

    Note
    Set fascia on a padded surface.
  15. Raise the vehicle to a comfortable working height. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  16. Disconnect the air compressor electrical connector (x2).
  17. Release the clip that attaches the air compressor electrical connector to the carrier.
  18. Remove the nut that attaches the compressor line to the air suspension valve block.
    3.5 Nm (2.6 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 12 mm 12-point combination wrench
  19. Remove the nut that attaches the boost line to the air suspension valve block.
    2 Nm (1.5 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm 12-point combination wrench
  20. Release the air line fittings from the air compressor.
    2 Nm (1.5 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm 12-point combination wrench
    • 12 mm 12 point combination wrench
  21. Remove the VOSS fittings (x2) from the compressor air lines.

    Note
    Slide the threaded section back, remove the collet, and then slide threaded section off of the air lines. Discard after removal.
  22. Release the clip that attaches the air suspension compressor to valve air line, and then remove the air line from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Install 4 mm VOSS fitting onto the air suspension valve block.
    2 Nm (1.5 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket

    Note
    Remove the plastic alignment pin from the VOSS fitting.
  2. Install 6 mm VOSS fitting onto the air suspension valve block.
    3.5 Nm (2.6 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 12 mm 12-point deep socket

    Remove the plastic alignment pin from the VOSS fitting.
  3. Install new VOSS fittings (x2) onto the air compressor and secure the air lines.
    2 Nm (1.5 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm deep socket
    • 12 mm 12-point deep socket

    Note
    Remove the white plugs when the air lines are ready to be installed.

    Note
    Fully insert the air line into the fitting. It should sit between the two white marks on the air lines. Verify the air lines are properly seated by performing a push-pull test.
  4. Position the air suspension line compressor to valve air line onto the vehicle, and then fasten the clip onto the air compressor bracket.
  5. Install the boost line into the air suspension valve block.

    Press the hose into the fitting until the mark aligns with the top of the fitting.

    Verify line is properly secured by performing a push-pull test.
  6. Install the compressor line into the air suspension valve block.

    Press the hose into the fitting until the mark aligns with the top of the fitting.

    Verify line is properly secured by performing a push-pull test.
  7. With assistance, install the front fascia onto the vehicle, and then secure the fascia to the fender brackets.

    Route the fascia harness while installing. Verify the front fascia valance sits under the front aero shield before proceeding.
  8. Apply Loctite 222 to the fasteners, and then install the bolts (x3) that attach the front fascia valance to the front aero shield panel.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10mm socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 4 in extension
  9. Connect the front fascia harness electrical connectors (x2), and then engage the connector lock.
  10. Install the bolt that attaches the front fascia to the RH fender bracket.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 4 in extension
  11. Install the push clips (x5) that attach the RH front wheel liner to the front fascia.
  12. Install the bolt that attaches the front fascia to the LH fender bracket.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 4 in extension
  13. Install push clips (x5) that attach the LH front wheel liner to the front fascia.
  14. Install the bolts (x6) that attach the front fascia bracket to the carrier.
    4 Nm (2.9 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
    • Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
    • 4 in extension
  15. Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  16. Refill the air suspension reservoir. See "Refill the Reservoir" section in Air Suspension - Pressurize / Depressurize - Full System.
  17. Remove the air suspension from "Jack Mode" using the vehicle touchscreen.
  18. Install the front underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Front (Remove and Replace).
  19. Install the LH and RH underhood aprons. See Underhood Apron - LH (Remove and Replace).
  20. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  21. Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
