Motor - Seat Tilt - Driver Seat (Sport Seat) (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the driver seat cushion outer side bolster. See Side Bolster - Outer - Seat Cushion - Driver (Sport Seat) (Remove and Replace).
  2. Disconnect the driver seat tilt motor electrical connector.
  3. Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the seat tilt motor to the seat assembly.
    7.5 Nm (5.5 lbs-ft)
    Note
    Do not remove the fastener for the adjustment arm.
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm deep socket
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  4. Remove and discard the bolt that attaches the driver seat tilt motor adjustment arm to the seat assembly.
    16 Nm (11.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T40 socket
  5. Remove the seat tilt motor from the seat cushion frame.

Install

  1. Position the driver seat tilt motor to the seat cushion frame for installation.
    Note
    Hold the tilt motor up and against the seat frame. Ensure the motor alignment pins are visible in the seat frame.
    Note
    A gateway configuration update for cfg_frontSeattype is needed when replacing the tilt motor 1099212-00-B with 1868276-00-B or newer.
  2. Install the bolts (x3) that attach the seat tilt motor to the seat assembly.
    7.5 Nm (5.5 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm deep socket
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
  3. Install a new bolt that attaches the seat tilt motor adjustment arm to the seat assembly.
    16 Nm (11.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip
    Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T40 socket
  4. Connect the driver seat seat tilt motor electrical connector.
  5. Install the driver seat cushion outer side bolster. See Side Bolster - Outer - Seat Cushion - Driver (Sport Seat) (Remove and Replace).
  6. Replacement front seat assemblies and seat cushion frame assemblies are equipped with a newly-designed "mini-tilt" motor, and replacing these parts (or the tilt motor itself) might require a configuration change. Review the configuration information in the table and perform the following substeps if a configuration update is needed.

    1. Access the Vehicle Configuration section of the Infotainment Dashboard. See Gateway Configuration (Display and Change).
    2. Update cfg_frontSeattype according to the combination of tilt motors described in the table.
  7. Perform a seat calibration. See Seat - 1st Row (Calibration).
  8. Close LH doors and raise the LH windows.
