Diffuser - Rear Fascia (Remove and Replace)

Torque Specifications

Reuse

Remove

  1. Raise the vehicle on a 2 post lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  2. Remove the mid aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Mid (Remove and Replace).
  3. Carefully remove the plastic screws (x2) that attach the tow hitch cover to the rear fascia diffuser.

    Note
    Avoid damage to the plastic screws because they are captive.
  4. Release the tabs (x10) that attach the tow hitch cover to the rear fascia diffuser, and then remove the cover from the diffuser.
  5. Release the push clips (x6) that attach the rear fascia diffuser to the LH and RH rear wheel arch liners.
  6. Remove the bolts (x6) and nuts (x3) that attach the rear fascia diffuser to the underbody.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • 6 in extension
  7. Release the tabs (x8) that attach the rear fascia diffuser to the rear fascia, and then remove the diffuser from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Fasten the tabs (x8) that attach the diffuser to the fascia, and then install the bolts (x6) and nuts (x3) that attach the rear fascia diffuser to the underbody.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
    • Ratchet/torque wrench
    • 6 in extension
  2. Fasten the push clips (x6) that attach the rear fascia diffuser to the LH and RH rear wheel arch liners.
  3. Install the tow hitch cover to the rear fascia diffuser, and then fasten the tabs (x10) that attach the cover to the diffuser.
  4. Carefully install the plastic screws (x2) that attach the tow hitch cover to the rear fascia diffuser.
  5. Install the mid aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Mid (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the vehicle from the lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
