Link - Fore - Upper - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

Torque Specifications

Reuse

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift
  2. Remove the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  3. Remove the bolt that attaches the ride height sensor arm to the LH upper fore link.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  4. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear upper fore link to the subframe.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 16 mm socket
  5. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH rear upper fore link to the knuckle, and then remove the upper fore link from the vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm socket

Install

  1. Position the LH upper fore link to the knuckle, and then install and hand tighten the bolt that attaches the link to the knuckle.

    Note
    The bolt will be torqued at a later step.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm socket
  2. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear upper fore link to the subframe.
    85 Nm (62.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 16 mm socket
  3. Install the bolt that attaches the LH ride height sensor arm to the LH upper fore link.
    8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)

    CAUTION
    Do not bind or invert the orientation of the sensor arm.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  4. If installed, remove and discard the bolt that attaches the brake rotor to the hub.

    A new bolt will not be installed.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
  5. Install a hub jack adapter onto the LH rear hub, and then use a support stand to support the LH rear suspension at ride height (85 mm +/- 5 mm).

    Note
    Measure the distance from the upper fore link to the bolt on the frame rail to make sure LH suspension is set to ride height.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Hub Jack Adapter - 1459409-00-A
  6. Torque the bolt that attaches the LH rear upper fore link to the knuckle, and then mark the bolt with a paint pen.
    150 Nm (110.6 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm socket
  7. Lower the support stand until the suspension is unladen, then remove it from the vehicle.
  8. Remove the hub jack adapter from the hub.
  9. Install the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  10. Remove the vehicle from the lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  11. Refer to the Alignment Requirement tables to determine whether an EPAS alignment check (EC) or four wheel alignment check (AC) is necessary. If performed, add the alignment check/adjust as a separate activity. See Alignment Requirement - Suspension.
