Pipe - Brake Junction to Jounce - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the brake front pipe assembly. See Pipe Assembly - Front - Brake (Remove and Replace).
  2. Release the nut that attaches the front end of the LH front brake pipe to the jounce hose.
    16 Nm (11.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 12 mm ratcheting combination wrench flex head
  3. Release the LH front brake pipe clips (x3).
  4. Remove the LH brake junction to jounce pipe:
    1. Guide the front of brake pipe up and over the AC compressor.
    2. Guide the rear of the brake pipe under the steering column and over the body casting.
    3. Guide the brake pipe towards the front of the vehicle between the superbeam and the AC compressor, and then tilt the brake pipe into vertical position.
    4. Guide the rear of the brake pipe out.

    CAUTION
    Do not bend the brake pipe.

Install

  1. Install the LH brake junction to jounce pipe:
    1. Guide the rear of the brake pipe between the superbeam and the AC compressor in vertical position.
    2. Tilt the brake pipe into horizontal position, and then guide towards the rear of the vehicle.
    3. Guide the rear of the brake pipe over the body casting and under the steering column.
    4. Guide the front of the brake pipe over the AC compressor, and then position the brake pipe for installation.

    CAUTION
    Do not bend the brake pipe.
  2. Secure the LH front brake pipe onto clips (x3).

  3. Install the nut that attaches the front end of the LH front brake pipe to the jounce hose.
    16 Nm (11.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 12 mm ratcheting combination wrench flex head
  4. Install the brake front pipe assembly. See Pipe Assembly - Front - Brake (Remove and Replace).
