1. Open the LH front door.
2. Lower both front windows.
3. Raise and support the vehicle.

   

   

4. Turn steering wheel fully to right

6. Remove bolts securing upper portion of front fascia
   Note

   6x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm

   

7. Remove LH front liner cover
   Note

   1x clip, 8x tabs

   

   

8. Remove LH front wheel fairing from valence
   Note

   2x bolts, 10mm, 1.5 Nm, 1x securing tab

   

9. Remove clips securing LH front wheel liner to valence
   Note

   3x clips

   

10. Remove LH front fender garnish
    Note

    5x clips, 8x tabs, 1x connector, 1x locking tab, Starting from the rear release garnish to access connector, After sensor is disconnected remove trim

    

    

    

11. Remove screw securing LH front of fascia to LH front fender
    Note

    1x screw, T25, 1.5 Nm

    

12. Turn steering wheel fully to left

    

13. Remove RH front liner cover
    Note

    1x clip, 8x tabs

    

    

14. Remove RH front wheel fairing from valence
    Note

    2x bolts, 10mm, 1.5 Nm, 1x securing tab

    

15. Remove RH front fender garnish
    Note

    5x clips, 9x tabs, 1x connector, 1x locking tab Starting from the rear release garnish to access connector, After sensor is disconnected remove trim.

    

    

    

16. Release clips securing RH front wheel liner to valence
    Note

    3x clips

    

17. Remove screw securing RH front of fascia to RH front fender
    Note

    1x screw, T25, 1.5 Nm

    

18. Power off the vehicle using the touchscreen.

    

19. Disconnect the LV battery connector and First Responder Loop.

    

    

    

20. Disconnect front fascia assembly
    Note

    2x connectors, 2x locking tabs, Release locking tabs then disconnect

    

    

21. Remove fasteners securing lower portion of front fascia to valence
    Note

    3x bolts, 10mm, 3 Nm, 2x clips

    

    

    

    

22. Remove front fascia assembly from vehicle
    Note

    Recommend assistance, Release fascia from LH and RH fender brackets, Careful not to damage the fender bracket when removing fascia, Place on protected surface to avoid damage

    

    

    

23. Disconnect active grille shutter actuator
    Note

    1x connector, Release locking tab

    

24. Disconnect ambient air sensor and push grommet through front end carrier
    Note

    1x connector, 1x grommet

    

    

25. Raise vehicle partially and lower onto locks
    Note

    Set vehicle to comfortable working height, Make sure there's an audible click of the locks on both sides before lowering, otherwise vehicle may tilt to the side

    

    

26. Place coolant catcher below LH front of vehicle

    

27. Disconnect radiator inlet and outlet hoses from top LH side of radiator and allow coolant to drain
    Note

    2x spring clips, Plug hoses and radiator as needed

    

    

28. Place coolant catcher below RH front of vehicle

    

29. Disconnect radiator inlet and outlet hoses from top RH side of radiator and allow coolant to drain
    Note

    2x spring clips, Plug hoses and radiator as needed

    

    

30. Raise vehicle fully and lower lift onto locks
    Note

    Set vehicle to comfortable working height, Ensure an audible click of locks on both sides is heard before lowering, Vehicle may tilt to the side if both locks are not engaged

    

    

31. Disconnect RH cooling fan module connector
    Note

    1x connector, Disconnect this after coolant hoses are plugged to avoid coolant damaging connector

    

32. Disconnect LH cooling fan module connector
    Note

    1x connector, Disconnect this after coolant hoses are plugged to avoid coolant damaging connector

    

33. Remove bolts securing cooling fan module to front end carrier
    Note

    2x bolts, 10mm, 10 Nm

    

    

34. Remove cooling fan module assembly from vehicle
    Note

    Recommend assistance, Gently place assembly on flat surface with fans down

    

    

35. Release locking tabs securing active grille shutter to cooling fan module assembly and remove active grille shutter
    Note

    12x locking tabs, 2x clips

    

    

    

    

    

36. Remove 12mm radiator from fan shroud assembly
    Note

    2x locking clips, 2x aligning guides, Slide radiator down and out

    

    

37. Clean debris from radiator
    Note

    Vacuum both sides of radiator, Do not damage fins of radiator

    

    

38. Clean radiator with compressed air
    Note

    Clean both sides of radiator with compressed air, Do not damage fins of radiator

    

    

    

39. Remove 21mm from fan shroud assembly and place fan shroud aside
    Note

    4x locking tabs, Push the 21mm radiator away from the fan shroud assembly as you pry each tab open

    

    

    

    

    

    

40. Clean debris from radiator
    Note

    Vacuum both sides of radiator, Do not damage fins of radiator

    

    

41. Clean radiator with compressed air
    Note

    Clean both sides of radiator with compressed air, Do not damage fins of radiator

    

    

    

42. Install 21mm radiator onto fan shroud assembly
    Note

    4x locking tabs, Align and push the 21mm radiator onto the tabs that secure it to the fan shroud assembly

    

    

    

    

43. Install 12mm radiator onto fan shroud assembly
    Note

    2x locking clips, 2x aligning guides, Align radiator with upper guide holes then secure onto clips

    

    

44. Install active grille shutter to cooling fan module assembly
    Note

    12x locking tabs, 2x clips, Gently place new assembly on flat surface with fans down, Align datums before engaging tabs

    

    

    

    

    

    

    

45. Install cooling fan module assembly into vehicle
    Note

    Recommend assistance to support the cooling fan module assembly

    

46. Install bolts securing cooling fan module to front end carrier
    Note

    2x bolts, 10mm, 10 Nm

    

    

47. Install RH cooling fan module connector
    Note

    1x connector

    

48. Install LH cooling fan module connector
    Note

    1x connector

    

49. Lower vehicle partially and set lift onto locks
    Note

    Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered, Set vehicle to comfortable working height

    

    

50. Install radiator inlet and outlet hoses onto top RH side of radiator
    Note

    2x spring clips, Remove plugs from both ends of each coolant connection, Perform push-pull-push test to make sure hoses are fully seated

    

51. Place coolant catcher below LH front of vehicle

    

52. Install radiator inlet and outlet hoses onto top LH side of radiator
    Note

    2x spring clips, Remove plugs from both ends of each coolant connection, Perform push-pull-push test to make sure hoses are fully seated

    

53. Remove coolant catcher from under vehicle

    

54. Connect ambient air sensor and secure grommet onto active grille shutter
    Note

    1x connector, 1x grommet

    

    

55. Connect active grille shutter actuator
    Note

    1x connector, Engage locking tab

    

56. Remove coolant bottle cap

    

57. Fill coolant to the proper level
    Note

    Ensure that the fluid level filled to the Max line

    

58. Lower vehicle until tires are touching ground
    Note

    Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered

    

    

    

59. Install front fascia onto vehicle
    Note

    Recommend assistance, Slide LH and RH side of fascia into fenders, Careful not to damage the fender bracket when installing fascia

    

    

    

60. Install fasteners securing lower portion of front fascia to valence
    Note

    3x bolts, 10mm, 3 Nm, 2x clips

    

    

    

    

61. Connect front fascia assembly
    Note

    2x connectors, Engage locking tabs

    

    

62. Install screw securing RH front of fascia to RH front fender
    Note

    1x screw, T25, 1.5 Nm

    

63. Install RH front fender garnish
    Note

    1x connector, 5x Clips, 8x tabs, 1x locking tab Engage locking tab, Align ducting into garnish, If ducting is not aligned front leading clips will not fully engage

    

    

64. Install RH front wheel fairing to valence
    Note

    2x bolts, 10mm, 1.5 Nm

    

65. Install RH front liner cover
    Note

    1x clip, 8x tabs

    

    

    

66. Install clips securing RH front wheel liner to valence
    Note

    3x clips

    

67. Connect the First Responder Loop and LV battery connector.

    

    

68. Press brake pedal to turn on drive rails

    

69. Turn steering wheel fully to right

    

70. Install screw securing LH front of fascia to LH front fender
    Note

    1x screw, T25, 1.5 Nm, Ensure proper fascia-to-fender flushness and gap

    

71. Install LH front fender garnish
    Note

    1x connector, 5x Clips, 8x tabs, 1x locking tab Engage locking tab, Align ducting into garnish, If ducting is not aligned front leading clips will not fully engage

    

    

    

72. Install LH front wheel fairing to valence
    Note

    2x bolts, 10mm, 1.5 Nm, 1x securing tab

    

73. Install LH front liner cover
    Note

    1x clip, 8x tabs

    

    

    

74. Secure LH front wheel liner to valence
    Note

    3x clips

    

75. Install bolts securing upper portion of front fascia
    Note

    4x bolts, 10mm, 7 Nm, Ensure proper fascia-to-headlamp gap and flushness

    

76. Release IP service panel
    Note

    2x tabs, 4x datums, Release top tabs and slide rearward

    

    

    

77. Connect to vehicle using Toolbox
    Note

    Navigate to https://toolbox.teslamotors.com and establish connection to vehicle, Select connection status icon at top right corner then select connect locally, Icon will turn green when connected, Successful connection will automatically unlock vehicle gateway and place UI in Service Mode Plus, Media converter box powered by laptop USB or 12v power outlet, Ethernet connection will provide communication, If RJ45 ethernet connector present at service panel media converter box not required, Vehicles built 4/5/2024 onwards have OBDII connection integrated into drivers lower IP cover, Use OBDII connection if this applies, Some vehicles may have both RJ45 and OBDII, If vehicle has both RJ45 and OBD-II then connect via RJ45, For local connection issues with Toolbox refer to https://toolbox.teslamotors.com/articles/43695

    

    

    

    

    

    

    

78. Select "Actions/Autodiag" tab and search for "Purge"

    

79. Select TEST_VCFRONT_X_THERMAL-COOLANT-AIR-PURGE, click "Run", and allow routine to complete
    Note

    Make sure vehicle is not in drive state, Routine is still running despite the stop message, Coolant pumps will be audible, Test lasts approximately 10 mins, Putting vehicle into drive state will stop this routine, Monitor levels as required

    

    

    

80. Inspect coolant level and top off as necessary
    Note

    Ensure that the fluid level is at the Max line, Top off fluid as required

    

    

81. Install coolant bottle cap

    

82. Select ‘Actions/Autodiag’ and search for ‘Thermal’

    

83. Select ‘Thermal System Performance Test ’, click ‘Run’, and allow routine to complete
    Note

    Select ‘X’ at top right of window to close once complete

    

    

84. Disconnect the laptop and ethernet diag kit (if used) from the vehicle.

    

    

85. Install the IP service panel.

87. Calibrate the RH falcon wing door.

    

88. Calibrate the LH falcon wing door.

    

89. Press brake pedal to turn on drive rails

    

90. Turn steering wheel back to center

    

91. Lower and remove the vehicle from the lift.

    

92. Raise both front windows.
93. Close the LH front door.
