Hose - HV Battery to LH Front Sill (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Raise and support vehicle.

    Set air suspension to "Jack Mode", Position lift arm pads on vehicle jack pads, DO NOT position the lift arm pads under the battery or side rails, as shown in red.
  2. Open hood.

    Via center display > Controls > Frunk Open.
  3. Power off vehicle via center display.

    Controls > Safety & Security > Power Off.
  4. Remove rear underhood apron.

    11x clips, 2x datums.
  5. Remove RH underhood apron.

    11x clips, 2x datums, Remove brush clip at hinge cover first, Take note of clip at headlamp.
  6. Remove LH underhood apron.

  7. Remove front underhood apron.

  8. Remove frunk access panel.

  9. Remove frunk carpet.
  10. Remove frunk assembly.

    8x bolts, 10mm, 5 Nm .
  11. Disconnect LV battery connector and First Responder Loop.

    2x connectors, Lift up and release green locking tab, Pull black connector lock outwards to release connection, Release red lock tab on FRL.
  12. Remove LH front wheel center cap.

  13. Loosen LH front wheel.

    5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm.
  14. Raise vehicle partially and lower onto locks.

    Set vehicle to comfortable working height, Make sure there's an audible click of the locks on both sides before lowering, otherwise vehicle may tilt to the side.
  15. Remove LH front wheel.

    5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm.
  16. Partially release rear edge of LH front fender garnish.

    4x clips.
  17. Release clips securing front portion of the LH front wheel house liner.

    6x clips, 1x push nut, Move aside for access.
  18. Release clips securing rear portion of the LH front wheel house liner and remove from vehicle.

  19. Raise vehicle fully and lower lift onto locks.

    Set vehicle to comfortable working height, Make sure there's an audible click of the locks on both sides before lowering, otherwise vehicle may tilt to the side.
  20. Remove clips securing front aero shield.

  21. Remove bolts securing front aero shield and remove from vehicle.

    9x bolts, 10mm, 6 Nm.
  22. Release clips securing wheel house liner to front skid plate.

  23. Remove bolts securing front skid plate to body sill.

    2x bolts, 15mm, 30 Nm.
  24. Remove bolts securing front skid plate to body casting.

  25. Remove bolts securing front skid plate to front subframe and remove skid plate.

    4x bolts, 15mm, 70 Nm, 2x bolts, 10mm, 10 Nm.
  26. Release clip securing ground cable to battery.

  27. Remove bolt securing ground cable to HV battery and move cable aside.

    1x bolt, 10mm, 10 Nm.
  28. Position coolant drain container underneath front of vehicle.

    Position to catch all coolant loss.
  29. Release LH front sill coolant hose .

    1x hose clip, Plug both ends of the hoses.
  30. Release LH sill coolant hose clips to body.

    3x clips.
  31. Place foldable funnel and absorbent material under PCS hose.

    Place funnel and absorbent material underneath coolant hose.
  32. Release PCS outlet hose from HV battery.

    1x hose clip, Plug HV battery .
  33. Remove foldable funnel and absorbent material from under PCS hose.

    Remove all material.
  34. Release clip securing PCS hose to HV battery.

    1x clip, Be careful when releasing clip and do not damage the HV battery casing.
  35. Remove PCS outlet hose from vehicle.

    Remove any coolant plugs from hose, Carefully maneuver hose out from in-between HV battery and vehicle body, Note orientation of the hose during removal.

Install

  1. Install PCS outlet hose into vehicle.

  2. Securing clip attaching PCS hose to HV battery.

  3. Secure LH sill coolant hose clips to body.

    3x clips.
  4. Secure LH front sill coolant hose .

    1x hose clip, 2x hose plugs, Remove plugs and secure hose. Perform push-pull-push test.
  5. Place foldable funnel and absorbent material under PCS hose.

    Place funnel and absorbent material undeneath coolant hose.
  6. Secure PCS outlet hose onto HV battery.

    1x hose clip, Remove any plugs and secure hose. Perform push-pull-push test.
  7. Remove foldable funnel and absorbent material from under PCS hose.

    Remove all material.
  8. Clean area and wipe away any residual fluid.
  9. Route and install bolt securing ground cable to HV battery .

  10. Install clip securing ground cable to battery.

  11. Remove coolant drain container from underneath vehicle.
  12. Position front skid plate for installation and thread in all bolts .

    4x bolts, 15mm, 70 Nm, 2x bolts, 15mm, 60 Nm, 2x bolts, 15mm, 30 Nm, 2x bolts, 10mm, 10 Nm, Torque at later step.
  13. Torque bolts securing front skid plate to body casting.

  14. Torque bolts securing front skid plate to body sill.

  16. Secure clips securing wheel house liner to front skid plate.

  17. Apply Loctite 222 onto front aero shield bolts and install fasteners securing front aero shield to vehicle.

  18. Install clips securing front aero shield.

    5x push clips.
  19. Lower vehicle partially and set lift onto locks.

    Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered, Set vehicle to comfortable working height.
  20. Install LH front wheel house liner and secure rear portion of the wheel house liner to the body.

    7x clips, 1x push nut.
  21. Install clips securing front portion of the LH front wheel house liner.

    6x clips, 1x push nut, Move aside for access.
  22. Secure partially released LH front fender garnish.

    4x clips.
  23. Install LH front wheel.

    5x nuts, 21mm, 175 Nm, Start lug nuts by hand before using power tool.
  24. Lower vehicle until tires are touching the ground.

    Raise lift off locks, then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered.
  25. Torque LH front wheel.

    5x nuts, 21 mm, 175 Nm.
  26. Install LH front wheel center cap.

    1x cap, Verify emblem is aligned with valve stem.
  27. Remove coolant bottle cap.
  28. Inspect coolant level and top off as necessary.

    Ensure that the fluid level is at the Max line, Top off fluid as required.
  29. Connect First Responder Loop and LV battery connector.

    2x connectors, Secure FRL first, Seat LV battery connection and push black connector lock inwards to secure, Engage upper locking tab when fully seated.
  30. Release IP service panel.

  31. Using laptop connect to vehicle with ethernet diag kit and Toolbox 3.

    Open Toolbox 3 website and establish connection to the vehicle. Media converter box is powered by laptop using USB, Ethernet connection will provide communication.
  32. Select "Actions/Autodiag" tab and search for "Purge".
  33. Select TEST_VCFRONT_X_THERMAL-COOLANT-AIR-PURGESearch for routine in ToolboxCoolant Air PurgeThermal / Coolant System - Coolant Purge Starthv / Front Drive Inverter Replacement - Coolant Air Purgehv / Rear Drive Inverter Replacement - Coolant Air Purgehv / Rear Left Drive Inverter Replacement - Coolant Air Purgehv / Rear Right Drive Inverter Replacement - Coolant Air Purgehv / Front Drive Unit Replacement - Coolant Air Purgehv / Rear Drive Unit Replacement - Coolant Air PurgeThermal / Actions - Coolant Purge Stop or Coolant Purge Start, click "Run", and allow routine to complete.

    Make sure vehicle is not in drive state, Routine is still running despite the stop message, Coolant pumps will be audible, Test lasts approximately 10 mins, Putting vehicle into drive state will stop this routine, Monitor levels as required.
  34. Inspect coolant level and top off as necessary.

  35. Install coolant bottle cap.
  36. Install IP service panel.

    2x tabs, 4 datums, Slide forward engaging datums then secure tabs upward into IP.
  37. Install frunk assembly.

  38. Install frunk carpet.

    Verify carpet is properly seated under the seal.
  39. Install frunk access panel.

  40. Install front underhood apron.

  41. Install LH underhood apron.

  42. Install RH underhood apron.

  45. Remove vehicle from lift.

    Lower rack arms fully and remove them from under vehicle, Remove air suspension from "Jack Mode".
  46. Calibrate the rear doors.

    If the "Calibration Needed" message appears on the vehicle touchscreen, touch and hold Calibrate to calibrate the rear doors.
