Link - Aft - Upper - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

Reuse

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift
  2. Remove the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  3. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH rear upper aft link to the subframe.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 16 mm socket
  4. Remove the clip that attaches the wire harness to the knuckle.
  5. Remove the wire harness from the bracket.
  6. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH rear upper aft link to the knuckle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm socket
  7. Remove the LH rear upper aft link from the vehicle.

    CAUTION
    Carefully remove the upper aft link to avoid damage to the wiring harness.

Install

  1. Position the LH upper aft link to the knuckle, and install the bolt that attaches the link to the knuckle.

    Note
    The bolt will be torqued at a later step.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm socket
  2. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the LH upper aft link to the subframe.
    85 Nm (62.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 16 mm socket
  3. Position the clip that attaches the wiring harness to the knuckle.
  4. Install the wiring harness into the bracket.
  5. If installed, remove and discard the bolt that attaches the brake rotor to the hub.

    Note
    A new bolt will not be installed.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 13 mm socket
  6. Install the hub jack adapter onto LH rear hub using the lug nuts.
  7. Position and raise the support stand to simulate LH rear suspension ride height.
  8. Measure the distance from the upper fore link to the bolt on the frame rail to make sure LH suspension is set to ride height.

    Note
    Distance should be 85mm +/- 5mm.
  9. Torque the bolt that attaches the LH rear upper aft link to the knuckle and mark it with a paint pen.
    150 Nm (110.6 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 21 mm socket
  10. Lower the support stand until the suspension is unladen, then remove it from the vehicle.
  11. Remove the hub jack adapter from the hub.
  12. Install the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  13. Remove the vehicle from the lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  14. Refer to the Alignment Requirement tables to determine whether an EPAS alignment check (EC) or four wheel alignment check (AC) is necessary. If performed, add the alignment check/adjust as a separate activity. See Alignment Requirement - Suspension.
