Fan - Backrest - Driver Seat (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH front door.
  2. Lower the LH windows.
  3. Remove the driver headrest trim. See Trim - Headrest - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  4. Move the driver seat back to its original position.
  5. Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  6. Release the clips (x6) that attach the driver seat back shell from the seat assembly, and then separate the shell from the assembly for access to the driver seat backrest fan.
  7. Disconnect the fan controller electrical connector, and then slide the connector upward to release it from the seat back suspension.
  8. Release the tabs (x4) that attach the fan cover to the seat back, and then remove the driver seat backrest fan from the seat back.

Install

  1. Position the driver seat backrest fan onto the seat back, and then install the fan cover to the seat back.

    Verify the tabs (x4) are fully engaged.
  2. Connect the fan controller electrical connector, and then slide the connector downward to attach it to the seat back suspension.
  3. With assistance, position the driver seat back shell onto the seat back assembly, and then install the shell onto the seat back.
  4. Reconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  5. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  6. Calibrate the rear doors.

    Note
    If the "Calibration Needed" message appears on the vehicle touchscreen, touch and hold Calibrate to calibrate the rear doors
  7. Install the driver headrest trim. See Trim - Headrest - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  8. Close the LH rear door.
  9. Move the driver seat back to its original position.
  10. Raise the LH windows.
  11. Close the LH front door.
