Actuator - Defrost (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the front passenger instrument panel duct. See Duct - Instrument Panel - Front Passenger (Remove and Replace).
  2. Remove the RH panel actuator. See Actuator - Duct - Footwell - RH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the screws (x2) that attach the defrost actuator to the HVAC assembly, and then release the actuator from the assembly.
    2.3 Nm (1.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
  4. Disconnect the defrost actuator electrical connector, and then remove the actuator from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Position the defrost actuator into the vehicle, and then connect the electrical connector.
  2. Position the defrost actuator into the HVAC assembly, and then install the screws (x2) that attach the actuator to the assembly.
    2.3 Nm (1.7 lbs-ft)

    The actuator is keyed to HVAC assembly. Align the actuator before installing the screws.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
  3. Install the RH panel actuator. See Actuator - Panel - RH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Install the front passenger instrument panel duct. See Duct - Instrument Panel - Front Passenger (Remove and Replace).
