Insulator - Top Cowl (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
- Remove the passenger footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Passenger (Remove and Replace)
- Remove the RH center console side carpet. See Carpet - Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the RH front sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH and RH IP end caps. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH and RH middle A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH and RH sun visor bezels. See Trim - A-Pillar - Sun Visor Bezel - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH and RH upper A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH and RH lower A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the instrument panel service panel. See Service Panel - Instrument Panel (Remove and Replace)
- Remove the touchscreen assembly. See Touchscreen (HW3) (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the RH instrument panel middle trim. See Trim - Middle - Instrument Panel - RH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the main instrument panel décor. See Decor - Instrument Panel - Main (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the front passenger knee airbag assembly. See Knee Airbag - Front Passenger (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the glove box. See Glove Box (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the front passenger instrument panel duct. See Duct - Instrument Panel - Front Passenger (Remove and Replace).

Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the
instrument panel carrier to the cross car beam.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket

Disconnect the front passenger airbag
electrical connectors (x3).
NotePull down the spring loaded locks simultaneously to release the airbag connectors

Remove the screws (x3) that attach the
LH lower instrument panel to the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T20 socket

Remove the screws (x7) that attach the
center lower instrument panel to the vehicle.Note1 screw connects the instrument panel ground harness.NoteIf using part revision 1562948-70-D on a non-HW4 vehicle, add ground strap 1679240-00-A to the aero lens assembly.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T20 socket

Remove the screws (x3) that attach the
RH lower instrument panel to the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T20 socket

Disconnect the instrument cluster
electrical harness, and then remove the clip that attaches it to the vehicle.

Disconnect the instrument panel trim
harness, and then remove the clip that attaches it to the vehicle.
-
Position the lower instrument panel
assembly away from the instrument panel sub-assembly.
NoteMove the top edge as far rearward as possible without excessive stress on the assembly.
- Remove the clip and bolt that attach the instrument panel ground harness to the vehicle.

With an assistant, remove the
instrument panel sub-assembly from the vehicle.
NoteSlide the instrument panel sub-assembly rearwards, and then lift the assembly up from the instrument panel carrier.NoteMake sure that the air wave vents and front passenger airbag are clear of the lower instrument panel assembly.NoteRemove the instrument panel sub-assembly out through the RH front door.

Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the
instrument panel cowl link to the vehicle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- 10 mm socket

Remove the top cowl insulator from the
top link.
NoteLift the cowl link slightly and slide the insulator rearward.
Install

Install the top cowl insulator to the
top link.

Align the datums (x2) and install the
bolts (x2) that attach the instrument panel cowl link to the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- 10 mm socket
- Ratchet/torque wrench

With an assistant, slide the
instrument panel sub-assembly into vehicle.
Notex4 datums.NoteMake sure that the front passenger airbag and the driver vent assembly have clearance past the lower instrument panel assembly.
- Install the clip and bolt that attach the instrument panel ground harness to the vehicle.

Connect the instrument panel trim
electrical harness, and then install the clip that attaches it to the vehicle.

Connect the instrument cluster
electrical harness, and then install the clip that attaches it to the vehicle.

Position the lower instrument panel
assembly onto the instrument panel sub-assembly.

Install the screws (x3) that attach
the LH lower instrument panel to the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T20 socket

Install the screws (x7) that attach
the center lower instrument panel to the vehicle.NoteIf using part revision 1562948-70-D on a non-HW4 vehicle, add ground strap 1679240-00-A to the aero lens assembly.Note1 screw connects the instrument panel ground harness.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T20 socket

Install the screws (x3) that attach
the RH lower instrument panel to the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T20 socket

Install the bolts (x2) that attach the
instrument panel carrier to the cross car beam.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket

Connect the front passenger airbag
electrical connectors (x3).
- Install the front passenger instrument panel duct. See Duct - Instrument Panel - Front Passenger (Remove and Replace).
- Install the glove box. See Glove Box (Remove and Replace).
- Install the front passenger knee airbag assembly. See Knee Airbag - Front Passenger (Remove and Replace).
- Install the main instrument panel décor. See Decor - Instrument Panel - Main (Remove and Replace).
- Install the RH instrument panel middle trim. See Trim - Middle - Instrument Panel - RH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the touchscreen assembly. See Touchscreen (HW3) (Remove and Replace).
- Install the instrument panel service panel. See Service Panel - Instrument Panel (Remove and Replace)
- Install the LH and RH lower A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH and RH upper A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH and RH sun visor bezels. See Trim - A-Pillar - Sun Visor Bezel - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH and RH middle A-pillar trims. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH and RH IP end caps. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the RH front sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the RH center console side carpet. See Carpet - Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the passenger footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Passenger (Remove and Replace)
- Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
- Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).

Calibrate the rear doors.
NoteIf the "Calibration Needed" message appears on the vehicle touchscreen, touch and hold Calibrate to calibrate the rear doors.
