Hose - Battery Supply (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Raise and support vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
- Move the RH front seat rearwards.
- Remove the RH front floor mat.
- Remove the passenger footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Passenger (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the RH center console side panel carpet. See Carpet - Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the RH front sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the RH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the RH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the RH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install).
- Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).

Fold the RH front cabin carpet aside for access.

Release the clip that attaches the harness to the front passenger footrest panel.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Clip pry tool
-
Remove the bolts (x2) and nuts (x2) that attach the front passenger footrest panel to the body, and then remove the panel from the vehicle.
NoteFold the RH primary support carpet upwards, and then rotate the footrest panel to remove.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 4 in extension
- 10 mm socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench

Install coolant hose clamps on the car computer coldplate assembly hoses.
NotePlace coolant absorbent mats or rags around the car computer.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Coolant hose clamps

Release the spring locks (x2) that attach the coolant hoses to the car computer coldplate assembly, remove the hoses from the coldplate assembly, and then install coolant plugs on the hoses and the coldplate assembly.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Car computer fluid port plug - 1119171-00-A
- Coolant hose clamps
- Coolant hose plug kit - 1135762-00-A
- Pick Miniature Soft Grip, 90 degree tip, 6 in

Disconnect the battery coolant temperature sensor locking connector.
NoteDisengage the red locking tab and slide the tab outwards to release the connector.

Release the clip that attaches the battery supply hose to the RH side of the frunk harness.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Clip pry tool

Place absorbent material below the battery coolant pump to catch coolant loss.
-
Release the hose clip that attaches the battery supply hose to the battery coolant pump, remove the hose from the pump, and then install coolant plugs on the hose and pump.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Coolant hose plug kit - 1135762-00-A
- Small flat head screwdriver

Remove the coolant hose clamps from the car computer supply hoses, and then remove the hoses through the firewall and into the frunk compartment.
NoteBoth hoses must have plugs installed to prevent leaks.

Raise the vehicle fully and lower lift onto locks.
NoteSet the vehicle to comfortable working height. Make sure there's an audible click of the locks on both sides before lowering, otherwise vehicle may tilt to the side.
- Remove the passenger footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Passenger (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the front skidplate. See Skidplate - Front (Remove and Replace).

Position a coolant drain container underneath the front of the vehicle to catch all coolant loss.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Coolant drain container

Release the clip that attaches the battery supply hose to the HV battery, remove the hose from the battery, and then install coolant plugs on the hose and battery.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Coolant hose plug kit - 1135762-00-A
- Small flat head screwdriver

Release the clips (x2) that attach the HVAC drain hose to the vehicle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Clip pry tool

Remove the clip that attaches the battery supply hose to the RH toeboard brace.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Pick Miniature Soft Grip, 90 degree tip, 6 in

Lower the vehicle until the tires are touching the ground.
NoteRaise lift off locks, and then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered.

Release the clip that attaches the battery supply hose to the vehicle, and then remove the hose from the vehicle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Clip pry tool
Install

Position the battery supply hose on the vehicle, and then install the clip that attaches the hose to the vehicle.
NoteEnsure coolant plugs are installed on the car computer side of the new hose to prevent leaking when the hose is connected to the HV battery.

Raise the vehicle fully and lower lift onto locks.
NoteSet the vehicle to comfortable working height. Make sure there's an audible click of the locks on both sides before lowering, otherwise vehicle may tilt to the side.

Install the clip that attaches the battery supply hose to the RH toeboard brace.

Install the clips (x2) that attach the HVAC drain hose to the vehicle.

Position the battery supply hose on the HV battery, and then install the clip that attaches the hose to the battery.
NoteRemove all plugs from the hose prior to installation. Perform a push-pull-push test to make sure the hose is fully seated.
- Remove the coolant drain container from underneath the vehicle.
- Clean any coolant residue from the vehicle.
- Install the front skidplate. See Skidplate - Front (Remove and Replace).

Lower the vehicle until the tires are touching the ground.
NoteRaise lift off locks, and then hold lock release lever to keep locks free while vehicle is lowered.

Install the car computer supply hoses back through the firewall towards the car computer cold-plate assembly, and then install the coolant hose clamps on the hoses.
NoteInstall coolant hose clamps once the hoses are routed inside the vehicle before removing plugs to prevent coolant leaking onto vehicle computer.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Coolant hose clamps

Position the coolant hoses on the car computer coldplate assembly, and then install the spring locks (x2) that attach the hoses to the coldplate assembly.
NoteRemove the coolant plugs while leaving coolant clamps engaged. Ensure spring locks engage and perform a push-pull-push test on each hose coupling to make sure the hoses are fully seated.NotePlace coolant absorbent mats or rags around the car computer.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Coolant hose clamps
- Coolant hose plug kit - 1135762-00-A

Remove coolant hose clamps from the car computer coldplate assembly hoses.
NoteRemove absorbent material, clean residual fluid, and then inspect for leaks.

Position the front passenger footrest panel on the vehicle, and then install the bolts (x2) and nuts (x2) that attach the panel to the body.NoteRotate the footrest panel to position on the vehicle, and then fold the RH primary support carpet downwards to install.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 4 in extension
- 10 mm socket
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- Ratchet/torque wrench

Install the clip that attaches the harness to the front passenger footrest panel.

Fold the RH main carpet into original position.
- Install the passenger footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Passenger (Remove and Replace).
- Install the RH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the RH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the RH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the RH front sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the RH front floor mat.

Position the battery supply hose on the battery coolant pump, and then install the hose clip that attaches the hose to the pump.
NoteRemove all plugs from the hose prior to installation. Perform a push-pull-push test to make sure the hose is fully seated.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Coolant hose plug kit - 1135762-00-A

Remove absorbent material from below the battery coolant pump, and then clean any coolant residue from the vehicle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Blow gun

Install the clip that attaches the battery supply hose to the RH side of the frunk harness.

Connect the battery coolant temperature sensor locking connector.
NoteEnsure the connector red locking tab is fully engaged.

Remove the coolant bottle cap.
-
Fill coolant to the proper level.
NoteEnsure the fluid level is filled to the Max line.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Flashlight LED
- Inspection mirror, rectangular
- Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).

Perform the following routine using Service Mode or Toolbox (see 0005 - Service Modes):

- Thermal ➜ Coolant System ➜ Coolant Purge Start
- Drive Inverter ➜ Front Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ Coolant Air Purge
- Drive Inverter ➜ Rear Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ Coolant Air Purge
- Drive Inverter ➜ Rear Left Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ Coolant Air Purge
- Drive Inverter ➜ Rear Right Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ Coolant Air Purge
- Drive Unit ➜ Front Drive Unit Replacement ➜ Coolant Air Purge
- Drive Unit ➜ Rear Drive Unit Replacement ➜ Coolant Air Purge
Note- Coolant pumps will be audible.
- Make sure the vehicle is not in drive state. Putting the vehicle into drive state will stop this routine.
- Monitor levels as required.
- Select "X" at top right of window to close once complete.
- Test lasts approximately 10 minutes.

Inspect the coolant level and top off as necessary.
NoteEnsure the fluid level is filled to the Max line.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Flashlight LED
- Inspection mirror, rectangular

Install the coolant bottle cap.

Remove any residual coolant.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Blow gun
- Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install).
- Lower the vehicle. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
- Move the RH front seat to original position.

Calibrate the rear doors.
NoteIf the "Calibration Needed" message appears on the vehicle touchscreen, touch and hold Calibrate to calibrate the rear doors.
