Actuator - Cinching - Liftgate (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
- Remove the liftgate lower trim. See Trim - Liftgate - Lower (Remove and Replace)

Disconnect the liftgate cinching
actuator electrical connector.

Remove the bolts (x3) that attach the
liftgate cinching actuator to the liftgate, and then remove the assembly from the
liftgate.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10mm socket

Use a small flat head screwdriver to
push down on the cinching cable locking tab while simultaneously pulling the cinching
cable away from the cinching actuator to release it from the actuator, and then pull the
cable out of the cinching actuator pulley slit.

Install

Install the cinching cable into the
cinching actuator pulley slit, and then wrap the cable around the pulley
counterclockwise.
NoteMake sure the cable is correctly sitting in the cinching actuator grooves and the locking tab is fully secured.

Position the liftgate cinching actuator assembly into the liftgate, and then install
the bolts (x3) that attach the actuator assembly to the liftgate.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10mm socket
- Install the liftgate lower trim. See Trim - Liftgate - Lower (Remove and Replace)
- Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
