Rear Door Spring - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove
- Remove the LH lower B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the headliner from the vehicle. See Headliner (Remove and Install).

Carefully disconnect the ultrasonic sensor from the center spine applique.
- Remove the LH front racetrack trim. See Racetrack Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH rear racetrack trim. See Racetrack Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH lower racetrack trim. See Racetrack Trim - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH upper racetrack trim. See Racetrack Trim - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH upper rear door glass assembly. See Door Glass Assembly - Rear - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Close the RH falcon wing door.
- Remove the center spine applique. See Applique - Spine - Center (Remove and Replace).
- Open the LH falcon wing door.

Disconnect the electrical connectors (x4) for the LH and RH EM controllers.
NotePush the tab inward to release the connector.

Release the coaxial connector from the center spine closeout panel, and then disconnect the connector.

Remove the bolts (x8) that attach the center spine closeout panel to the vehicle, and then lower the closeout panel slightly. CAUTIONDo not allow closeout panel to hang from the harness.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket

Release the clips (x5) that attach the center spine closeout panel to the wiring harness, and then remove the closeout panel from the vehicle.

Remove the bolt and release the clips (x2) that attach the LH hinge trim cover to the vehicle, and then remove the cover from the vehicle.NoteThe lower clip must be pried down before releasing.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 8 mm socket

Release the LH rear door primary body side seal from the double sided tape (x2), and then remove the seal from the vehicle.
NotePull the seal inward to remove as much tape as possible from the body.NoteShift the seal up and over the falcon door to fully remove it.

Use an eraser wheel to remove the majority of the residual adhesive from the body, and then use IPA wipes to remove any remaining residue.
NoteRemoval may be more difficult when exposed to heat.NoteAllow 1 minute of dry time.

Remove the inner nuts (x2) that attach the LH carrier bracket to the body.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 8 mm socket

Remove the bolts (x2) and release the clips (x2) that attach the LH carrier bracket to the body, and then remove the bracket from the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- T25 socket

Support the LH falcon wing door.
CAUTIONPlace protection between the stand and door.

Disconnect the LH falcon wing door front and rear strut electrical connectors (x4).

Release the LH falcon wing door front and rear primary struts from the door assembly.
NoteRelease the C-clip while pulling the strut away from the ball joint.NoteDo not fully remove the C-clip from the strut.

With assistance, carefully remove the bolts (x4) that attach the LH rear rear door spring cover bracket to the vehicle, and then remove the rear door spring from the vehicle.WarningMake sure the spring is not under tension by overextending the LH rear door over the center spine; be careful not to damage the RH rear door.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- T25 socket
Install

Position the LH rear rear door spring into the vehicle.
NoteMake sure the door spring is fully inserted into the primary hinge groove.

Install the bolts (x4) that attach the LH rear rear door spring cover bracket to the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- T25 socket

Secure the LH falcon wing door front and rear primary struts to the door assembly.
NoteAlign the strut to the ball joint and secure the C-clip.NotePerform a push-pull test to confirm the strut is fully installed.

Connect the LH falcon wing door front and rear strut electrical connectors (x4).
- Remove the support stand.

Position the LH carrier bracket into the vehicle, and then install the bolts (x2) and secure the clips (x2) that attach the bracket to the body.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- T25 socket

Install the inner nuts (x2) that attach the LH carrier bracket to the body.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 8 mm socket

Position the LH hinge trim cover to the vehicle, and then install the bolt and secure the clips (x2) that attach the cover to the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 8 mm socket

Position the LH rear door primary body side seal for installation.
NotePosition the flange in the seal between the primary hinges.

Position the LH rear door primary body side seal onto the vehicle, set the inner seal tape first as it sits flat on the body seam, and then seat the outer seal tape and sill tape.
NoteThe inner tape should follow the body seam about 1cm from the edge.NoteWet out the adhesive applying pressure along the entirety of the seal once set in desired position.NoteMake sure the LH falcon wing door seal is seated behind the spine racetrack.

Position the center spine closeout panel into the vehicle, and then secure the clips (x2) that attach the harness to the front of the center spine closeout panel.

Install the bolts (x8) that attach center spine closeout panel to the vehicle. CAUTIONDo not allow closing plate to hang on harnessTip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket

Secure the clips (x3) that attach the harness to the center spine closeout panel.

Connect the LH and RH EM controller electrical connectors (x4).
NotePush the tab inward to release the connector.

Calibrate the rear doors.
NoteIf the "Calibration Needed" message appears on the vehicle touchscreen, touch and hold Calibrate to calibrate the rear doors.

- Install the LH lower racetrack trim. See Racetrack Trim - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH rear racetrack trim. See Racetrack Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH front racetrack trim. See Racetrack Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the center spine applique. See Applique - Spine - Center (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH upper rear door glass assembly. See Door Glass Assembly - Rear - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace)
- Install the headliner. See Headliner (Remove and Install).
- Install the LH lower B-pillar trim. See Trim - B-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
