Module - HomeLink Transmitter (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open the LH and RH front doors.
  2. Lower the LH and RH front windows.
  3. Remove the front fascia assembly. See Fascia Assembly - Front (Remove and Install).
  4. Disconnect the homelink transmitter module connector.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Pocket screwdriver
  5. Release the tab that attaches the homelink transmitter module to the body, and then remove the module from the vehicle.

    Slide the module to the left of the vehicle to remove.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Pocket screwdriver

Install

  1. Position the homelink transmitter module on the vehicle, and then install the tab that attaches the module to the body.

    Slide the module to the right of the vehicle to install.
  2. Connect the homelink transmitter module connector.
  3. Install the front fascia assembly. See Fascia Assembly - Front (Remove and Install).
  4. Release the tabs (x4) and datums (x2) that attach the IP service panel to the console, and then slide the panel rearwards.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Plastic trim tool
  5. Using a laptop, connect to the vehicle with the ethernet diagnostic kit and Toolbox 3.
  6. Select "Actions/Autodiag" tab and search for "Homelink".
  7. Select TEST-SELF_VCFRONT_X_HOMELINKvia Toolbox: (link)via Service Mode: Low Voltage ➜ HomeLink ➜ Test HomeLink, click "Run", and allow the routine to complete.

    Note
    Select 'X' at the top right of the window to close once the routine is complete.
  8. Disconnect Toolbox 3 from the vehicle and remove the laptop and ethernet diagnostic kit.
  9. Install the tabs (x4) and datums (x2) that attach the IP service panel to the console.
  10. Verify the homelink icon is now visible on the center display.
  11. Raise LH and RH front windows.
  12. Close the LH and RH front doors.
