OBD Connector (Retrofit)

  • Tools Required:
    • 1115191-00-A - Pick Miniature Soft Grip 90 degree tip 6in
    • 1706381-00-A - Cordless Heat Gun
    • 1061177-00-C - KIT, WIRE HARNESS REPAIR
    • 1944989-00-A - Depinning Tool 45 degrees

Retrofit

  1. Disconnect the LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  2. Remove LH outboard footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Outboard - Driver (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove OBD2 connector from LH knee air bag assembly.
  4. Remove Pin 3 (violet) wire terminal from OBD connector.
  5. Remove Pin 11 (red) wire terminal from OBD connector.
  6. Install heat shrink onto pin 3 and 11 wire terminals.

    Note
    Pull up at the bottom of the phone dock, and then pivot out from under the instrument panel.
  7. Apply tape to secure pin 3 and 11 reworked wire terminals onto OBD wire harness bundle.
  8. Install OBD2 connector onto LH knee air bag assembly.
  9. Connect the LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  10. Install LH outboard footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Outboard - Driver (Remove and Replace).
