Seat Assembly - 3rd Row (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Open all the doors and lower the front windows.
  2. Move the front seats forward.
  3. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  4. Move the RH 2nd row seat forward.
  5. Fold the 3rd row seat backs down to approximately 40 degrees.
  6. Remove the trunk rear load floor. See Trunk Load Floor - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  7. Remove the trunk tub floor insulator.
  8. Remove the trunk carpet.
  9. Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  10. Remove the clips (x4) that attach the 3rd row seat harness trays to the seat frame, and then release the harness trays from the seat frame.
  11. Disconnect the 3rd row seat assembly electrical connectors (x11).

    Note
    Release the tab, and then slide the connector housing off the tray to remove.
  12. Release the clips (x2) that attach the 3rd row seat cushion to the vehicle, remove the cushion from the vehicle, and then place the cushion on a protected surface.

    CAUTION
    Feed the cushion harnesses below the 3rd row seat backs.

    Note
    While pushing down on cushion, feel for rocket clips and disengage locking tabs. The clips are located on both ends of seat cushion.
  13. Remove the bolts (x4) that attach the front side of the 3rd row seat rails to the vehicle.
    37 Nm (27.3 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 11 mm socket
  14. Remove the bolts (x4) that attach the rear side 3rd row seat rails to the vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 11 mm socket
  15. With assistance, remove the 3rd row seat assembly from the vehicle.

Install

  1. With assistance, position the 3rd row seat assembly into the vehicle.
  2. Install and hand tighten the bolts (x4) that attach the rear side 3rd row seat rails to the vehicle.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 11 mm socket
  3. Install the bolts (x4) that attach the front side of the 3rd row seat rails to the vehicle.
    37 Nm (27.3 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 11 mm socket
  4. Position the 3rd row seat cushion into the vehicle, and then feed the cushion harnesses below the 3rd row seat backs.
  5. Tighten the bolts (x4) that attach the rear side 3rd row seat rails to the vehicle.
    37 Nm (27.3 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 11 mm socket
  6. Connect the 3rd row seat assembly electrical connectors (x11).

    Note
    Slide the connectors onto the bracket tabs to secure.
  7. Position the 3rd row seat harness trays onto the seat frame, and then install the clips (x4) that attach the harness trays to the seat frame.
  8. Install the trunk carpet.
  9. Install the trunk tub floor insulator.
  10. Install the trunk rear load floor. See Trunk Load Floor - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  11. Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  12. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  13. Close the liftgate.
  14. Move the 2nd row seats to the original positions.
  15. Move front passenger seat to the original position.
  16. Close the RH front door.
  17. Calibrate the rear doors.

    Note
    If the "Calibration Needed" message appears on the vehicle touchscreen, touch and hold Calibrate to calibrate the rear doors.
  18. Move the driver seat to the original position.
  19. Raise the front windows.
  20. Close the LH front door.
