Harness - Power Strut - Rear Door - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the headliner. See Headliner (Remove and Install).
  2. Remove the LH rear sill trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the LH front racetrack trim. See Racetrack Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  4. Remove the LH rear racetrack trim. See Racetrack Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the LH upper racetrack trim. See Racetrack Trim - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  6. Remove the LH rear door trim lower garnish. See Garnish - Lower - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)
  7. Remove the LH upper rear door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Rear - Upper - LH (Remove & Replace)
  8. Remove the LH rear upper rear door trim bracket. See Bracket - Rear Door Trim - Upper - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Remove the LH front upper rear door trim bracket. See Bracket - Rear Door Trim - Upper - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  10. Remove the LH center rear door trim bracket. See Bracket - Rear Door Trim - Center - LH (Remove and Replace).
  11. Remove the mid rear LH door trim gap hider. See Gap Hider - Door Trim - LH - Rear - Mid (Remove and Replace).
  12. Remove the LH rear door upper glass. See Door Glass Assembly - Rear - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  13. Disconnect the LH and RH EM controller connectors (x4), and then release the connectors from the closing plate.

    Note
    Push the tab inward to release.
  14. Disconnect the coaxial connector, and then release the connector from the closing plate.
  15. Remove the bolts (x8) that attach the closing plate to the vehicle, and then lower the closing plate slightly.
    3.5 Nm (2.6 lbs-ft)

    CAUTION
    Do not allow the closing plate to hang on the harness.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  16. Release the clips (x5) from the closing panel, and then remove the closing panel from the vehicle.
  17. Disconnect the LH rear door power strut harness connectors (x2)
  18. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH hinge trim cover to the hinge assembly, and then release the clips (x2) to remove the cover from the assembly.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Pry the lower clip downward before releasing the cover.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
  19. Disconnect the LH rear door power strut harness connectors (x2), release the clips (x5), remove the butyl patch, and then remove the strut harness from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Evaluate the condition of the butyl patch and replace if necessary.

    Note
    The patch should measure 60 mm x 50 mm.
  2. Position the LH rear door power strut harness into the vehicle, connect the connectors (x2), and then install the clips (x5) and butyl patch.

    CAUTION
    Route the harness as shown to prevent damage.
  3. Position the LH hinge trim cover into the vehicle, and then install the bolt and clips (x2) that attach the cover to the vehicle.
    5 Nm (3.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 8 mm socket
  4. Connect the LH rear door power strut harness connectors (x2)
  5. Attach the clips (x2) to the front of the closing panel.
  6. Install the bolts (x8) that attach the closing plate to the vehicle.
    3.5 Nm (2.6 lbs-ft)

    Do not allow the closing plate to hang on the harness.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  7. Install the clips (x3) that attach the harness to the closing panel.
  8. Connect the EM controller connectors (x4).
  9. Install the LH rear door upper glass. See Door Glass Assembly - Rear - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  10. Install the mid rear LH door trim gap hider. See Gap Hider - Door Trim - LH - Rear - Mid (Remove and Replace).
  11. Install the LH center rear door trim bracket. See Bracket - Rear Door Trim - Center - LH (Remove and Replace).
  12. Install the LH front upper rear door trim bracket. See Bracket - Rear Door Trim - Upper - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  13. Install the LH rear upper rear door trim bracket. See Bracket - Rear Door Trim - Upper - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  14. Install the LH upper rear door trim panel. See Panel - Door Trim - Rear - Upper - LH (Remove & Replace)
  15. Install the LH rear door trim lower garnish. See Garnish - Lower - Door Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)
  16. Install the LH upper racetrack trim. See Racetrack Trim - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace).
  17. Install the LH rear racetrack trim. See Racetrack Trim - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
  18. Install the LH front racetrack trim. See Racetrack Trim - Front - LH (Remove and Replace).
  19. Install the headliner. See Headliner (Remove and Install).
  20. Install the LH rear sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
