Camera Cover - Upper (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Enable Service Mode. See Service Mode (Enable and Disable).
  2. Remove the lower camera cover. See Camera Cover - Lower (Remove and Replace).
  3. Remove the rear view mirror. See Mirror - Rear View (Remove and Replace).
  4. Carefully pull down on the upper camera cover to release it from the clips (x4), lower the rear view mirror harness cover, and then disconnect the electrical connectors (x3).
  5. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the occupant camera to the upper camera cover, and then remove the camera from the cover.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • T10 socket

Install

  1. Position the occupant camera to the upper camera cover, and then install the bolts (x2) that attach the camera to the cover.
    1 Nm (.7 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • T10 socket

  2. Reset the Driver Assistance System (DAS).
    1. Unlock the vehicle gateway. See Gateway (Unlock).
    2. On the touchscreen Service Mode menu, touch Driver Assist > Cameras > Reset DAS.
    3. On the touchscreen Cameras diagram, confirm that the Reset DAS button is highlighted green and that all DAS components display a green status light.

      Investigate and rectify any DAS components that display a red status light.
  3. Position the upper camera cover onto the camera assembly, attach the upper camera cover to the rear view mirror harness cover, connect the electrical connectors (x3), and then secure the clips (x4) that attach the cover to the assembly.

    Note
    Ensure the rear view mirror harness is routed so that it hangs freely on the outside and is not pinched between the cover and glare shield assembly.

    Attach the camera upper cover to the rear view mirror harness cover before connecting the occupant camera.

    Install the cover as an assembly.
  4. Install the rear view mirror. See Mirror - Rear View (Remove and Replace).
  5. Install the lower camera cover. See Camera Cover - Lower (Remove and Replace).
  6. Disable Service Mode. See Service Mode (Enable and Disable).
