Brake Hose - Flexible - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Raise and support the vehicle on a 2 post lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
  2. Remove the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  3. Release the clip that attaches the air lines to the LH rear flexible brake hose bracket.
  4. Remove the bolt that attaches the LH rear flexible brake hose to the LH rear lower aft link.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  5. Position the oil drain container underneath the LH rear corner of the vehicle.
  6. Remove the banjo bolt that attaches the LH rear flexible brake hose to the LH rear brake caliper.
    42 Nm (31.0 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 11 mm deep socket

    Catch any brake fluid lost in the oil drain container.
  7. Disconnect the LH rear jounce hose from the LH rear flexible brake hose.
    16 Nm (11.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 12 mm combination wrench.

    Note
    Catch any brake fluid lost in oil drain container.
  8. Remove the clip that attaches the LH rear jounce hose to the bracket.
  9. Remove the LH rear flexible brake hose from the vehicle.

    Make sure proper routing behind the rear stabilizer bar link.

    Discard the brake hose.

    Crush washer cannot be reused.

Install

  1. Position the LH rear flexible brake hose to the vehicle.

    Make sure proper routing behind the rear stabilizer bar link.

    Brake hose cannot be reused.
  2. Install the clip that attaches the LH rear jounce hose to the bracket.
  3. Connect the LH rear jounce hose to the LH rear flexible brake hose.
    16 Nm (11.8 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 12 mm combination wrench.

  4. Install the banjo bolt that attaches the LH rear flexible brake hose to the LH rear brake caliper.
    42 Nm (31.0 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 11 mm deep socket

    Note
    Catch any brake fluid lost in the oil drain container.
  5. Remove the oil drain container from underneath the vehicle.
  6. Install the bolt that attaches the LH rear flexible brake hose to the LH rear lower aft link.
    6 Nm (4.4 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • 10 mm socket
  7. Fasten the clip that attaches the air lines to the LH rear flexible brake hose bracket.
  8. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  9. Bleed the brakes. See Brake Fluid Bleed/Flush (Remove and Replace).
  10. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  11. Install the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
  12. Hold brake pedal and shift into Park on the touchscreen to disable EPB service mode.
  13. Perform a road test to ensure proper brake pedal feel and performance.
