1. Open all four doors

   

2. Lower all four windows

   

3. Move LH front seat forward

   

4. Move LH Monopost seat forward

   

5. Move RH Monopost seat forward

   

6. Remove LH rear sill assembly
   Note

   8x clips, 1x datum, 1 tab

   

   

   

7. Open liftgate

   

   

8. Remove trunk rear load floor

   

9. Remove trunk pocket load floor

   

10. Remove lower trunk pocket load floor

    

11. Remove trunk sill trim
    Note

    4x clips, 2x datums

    

    

    

12. Remove trunk carpet

    

    

    

13. Remove rear wall load support
    Note

    4x push clips, 2x clips

    

    

14. Remove trunk tub floor insulator

    

    

15. Remove LH lower C-pillar
    Note

    17x clips

    

    

    

    

16. Disconnect LH C-pillar accelerometer
    Note

    1x connector, Release red locking tab

    

17. Fold LH 3rd row seat back into down position

    

18. Remove LH upper C-pillar trim
    Note

    6x clips, 1x datum

    

    

    

19. Remove LH crush can bracket
    Note

    5x clips

    

    

20. Remove LH soft trim pocket bracket
    Note

    1x clips, 1 datum

    

    

21. Remove LH trunk side bracket
    Note

    3x screws, T30, 2.5 Nm, 3x push clips

    

    

22. Move the RH front seat forward.
23. Remove 2nd row floor mat

    

24. Remove 2nd row mid floor board
    Note

    5x clips, Recommend assistance, Tilt front edge upwards and remove in vertical position

    

    

25. Remove 2nd row rear floor board
    Note

    2x clips, Recommend assistance

    

    

26. Remove LH upper c-pillar duct
    Note

    1x stud,

    

    

27. Remove busbar duct assembly
    Note

    2x bolts, 10mm, 2.5 Nm

    

    

28. Raise LH 3rd row seat back into upright position

    

29. Open charge port door

    

    

30. Open the hood.

    

31. Remove the rear underhood apron.

    

    

32. Power off the vehicle using the touchscreen.

    

33. Disconnect the LV battery connector and First Responder Loop.

    

    

    

34. Verify operation of multimeter
    Note

    Set multimeter to DC voltage, Confirm multimeter is properly measuring voltage by testing LV battery, Touch lightly and do not damage terminals

    

    

35. Remove all items from pockets and ensure not wearing metal items

    

36. Inspect HV insulating gloves
    Note

    Check gloves for damage prior to use, Refer to service document TN-15-92-003, for information on inspecting HV gloves. https://service.teslamotors.com/documents?model=&keys=TN-15-92-003&vehicle_system=&sort_by=field_date_submitted&sort_order=DESC

    

37. Put on HV insulating gloves and leather over gloves

    

38. Verify there is no high voltage present at the charge port
    Note

    Make sure to wear PPE (HV gloves, safety glasses) when working on high voltage component, Measure B+ to B-, and B+ to Ground (use trunk striker as a ground for the isolation check) If voltage is greater than 10V, Pack contactors are not open or welded, Stop work and reach out to Service Engineering,

    

    

    

    

39. Remove leather over gloves and HV insulating gloves

    

40. Release 3rd row seat harness trays from seat frame
    Note

    4x push clips

    

    

41. Disconnect 3rd row seat assembly connections
    Note

    5x connectors, Release tab and slide connector housing off tray to remove

    

    

42. Remove 3rd row seat cushion from vehicle
    Note

    2x clips, While pushing down on cushion, feel for rocket clips and disengage locking tabs, Clips located on both ends of seat cushion, Feed cushion harnesses below 3rd row seat backs, Place cushion on protected surface

    

    

    

43. Remove bolts securing front side 3rd row seat rails to body
    Note

    4x bolts, 11mm, 37 Nm

    

44. Remove bolts securing rear side 3rd row seat rails to body
    Note

    4x bolts, 11mm , 37 Nm

    

45. Remove 3rd row seat assembly from vehicle
    Note

    Recommend assistance

    

46. Remove LH inner reinforcement from body
    Note

    9x bolts, T40, 27 Nm, Use a T40 socket with 8mm wrench to loosen the lower 2 bolts to avoid removal of 3rd row seat frame, Then use hex bit ratchet to remove bolts fully, All other bolts can be removed with 1/4in. Dr. ratchet and 1/4in. Dr. T40 socket

    

    

47. Remove bolt securing HV inlet safety cover
    Note

    1x bolt, 8mm, 6 Nm, Discard bolt after removal

    

48. Remove charge port harness from body stud
    Note

    1x nut, 10mm, 6 Nm

    

49. Remove HV inlet safety cover from charge port assembly
    Note

    2x securing tabs, Release tab on each side of cover to remove

    

50. Remove busbar leads from charge port assembly
    Note

    2x bolts, 11mm, 9 Nm, Nuts have captured washers

    

51. Remove bolt securing busbar HV connector lid
    Note

    1x bolt, 10mm, 9 Nm

    

52. Remove bolts securing HV connector to DC FC header
    Note

    2x bolts, 10mm, 9 Nm

    

53. Remove HV connector from DC FC header

    

    

54. Remove busbar assembly from vehicle
    Note

    Recommend assistance, Remove busbar assembly from LH falcon door opening

    

    

    

55. Disconnect charge port harness from ECU
    Note

    2x connectors

    

56. Remove charge port controller
    Note

    1x bolt, 10mm, 4 Nm, 1x securing clip, Slide controller upward to remove

    

    

57. Remove charge port controller bracket
    Note

    2x tabs, Slide bracket upwards to remove

    

    

    

58. Disconnect LH tail lamp
    Note

    1x connector, Release red locking tab

    

59. Release LH body harness from low C-pillar body
    Note

    3x connectors, 12x clips

    

60. Remove LH wheelhouse absorber from vehicle
    Note

    Avoid tearing the wheelhouse absorber by carefully clearing studs and bracket

    

    

61. Install LH wheelhouse absorber onto vehicle
    Note

    Avoid tearing the wheelhouse absorber by carefully aligning it studs and bracket

    

    

62. Install LH body harness to lower C-pillar body
    Note

    3x connectors, 12x clips

    

63. Connect LH C-pillar accelerometer
    Note

    1x connector, Engage red locking tab

    

64. Secure LH tail lamp connector
    Note

    1x connector, Engage red locking tab

    

65. Install charge port controller bracket
    Note

    2x tabs, Slide bracket downwards to install

    

    

    

66. Install charge port ECU
    Note

    1x bolt, 10mm, 4 Nm, 1x securing clip, Slide ECU downward to engage securing clip

    

    

67. Install charge port harness onto body stud
    Note

    1x nut, 10mm, 6 Nm

    

68. Connect charge port harness to ECU
    Note

    2x connectors

    

69. Clean charge port assembly busbar contact surface of residual penetrox
    Note

    Use plastic trim tool to push IPA wipe down between plastic divider, Allow 1 minute dry time

    

70. Verify charge port studs are torqued to proper specification
    Note

    2x studs, T10, 2 Nm

    

71. Clean DC FC header contact surface of residual Penetrox
    Note

    Allow 1 minute dry time after wiping away Penetrox, New busbar comes with penetrox applied to HV connector

    

72. Position busbar assembly into vehicle for installation
    Note

    New busbar assembly comes with Penetrox A-13 applied on HV connector side

    

    

73. Apply Penetrox to backside of busbar leads
    Note

    Apply 2 drops of Penetrox A-13 about 5mm in diameter to either side of the hole on both leads, Spread evenly to verify the contact surface is fully covered

    

74. Install HV connector onto DC FC header
    Note

    Verify connector is fully seated

    

75. Install bolts securing HV connector to DC FC header
    Note

    2x bolts, 10mm, 9 Nm

    

76. Install busbar leads onto charge port assembly
    Note

    2x nuts, 11mm, 9 Nm, Nuts have captured washers

    

77. Inspect HV insulating gloves
    Note

    Check gloves for damage prior to use, Refer to service document TN-15-92-003, for information on inspecting HV gloves. https://service.teslamotors.com/documents?model=&keys=TN-15-92-003&vehicle_system=&sort_by=field_date_submitted&sort_order=DESC

    

78. Put on HV insulating gloves and leather over gloves

    

79. Perform Hioki resistance test at each HV joint from HV busbar lead to charge port stud
    Note

    2x HV joints, Measure both joints at the highlighted locations, The acceptable resistance is between 0.050 mΩ (50 μΩ) and 0.270 mΩ (270 μΩ).If the resistance is greater than 0.270 mΩ (270 μΩ), stop work and escalate the Toolbox session. If the resistance is lower than 0.050 mΩ (50 μΩ), reposition the probes and measure again. If the resistance is repeatedly between 0.00 mΩ and 0.050 mΩ (50 μΩ), Hioki test passed, proceed to next step.

    

80. Perform Hioki resistance test at each HV joint from HV busbar lead to bolt head
    Note

    2x HV joints, Measure both joints at the highlighted locations, The acceptable resistance is between 0.050 mΩ (50 μΩ) and 0.195 mΩ (195 μΩ).If the resistance is greater than 0.195 mΩ (195 μΩ), stop work and escalate the Toolbox session. If the resistance is lower than 0.050 mΩ (50 μΩ), reposition the probes and measure again. If the resistance is repeatedly between 0.00 mΩ and 0.050 mΩ (50 μΩ), Hioki test passed, proceed to next step

    

81. Remove leather over gloves and HV insulating gloves

    

82. Install bolt securing HV connector lid
    Note

    1x bolt, 10mm, 9 Nm

    

83. Install HV inlet safety cover onto charge port assembly
    Note

    2x securing tabs

    

84. Install bolt securing HV inlet safety cap to charge port assembly
    Note

    1x bolt, 8mm, 6 Nm, Install new bolt

    

85. Install busbar duct assembly
    Note

    2x bolts, 10mm, 2.5 Nm

    

    

86. Install LH upper c-pillar duct
    Note

    1x stud

    

    

87. Install 2nd row mid floor board
    Note

    5x clips, Recommend assistance

    

    

88. Install 2nd row rear floor board
    Note

    2x clips, Align clips with, Recommend assistance

    

    

89. Install 2nd row floor mat

    

90. Install LH inner reinforcement to body
    Note

    9x bolts, T40, 27 Nm, To avoid removal of 3rd row seat frame, Use hex bit ratchet to fully seat bottom 2 bolts prior to torque

    

    

91. Install LH trunk side trim bracket
    Note

    3x bolts, T30, 2.5 Nm, 3x push clip

    

    

92. Install LH upper C-pillar trim
    Note

    11x clips

    

    

    

93. Install LH lower C-pillar
    Note

    17x clips

    

    

94. Install LH soft trim pocket bracket
    Note

    2x clips

    

    

95. Install LH crush can bracket
    Note

    5x clips

    

    

96. Install rear wall load floor support
    Note

    4x push clips, 2x clips

    

    

97. Install rear trunk sill trim
    Note

    4x clips, Make sure to seat liftgate seal properly

    

    

    

98. Install 3rd row seat assembly into vehicle
    Note

    Recommend assistance

    

    

99. Install bolts securing rear side 3rd row seat rails to body hand tight
    Note

    4x bolts, 11mm, 37 Nm, Torque at later step

    

100. Install bolts securing front side 3rd row seat rails to body
     Note

     4x bolts, 11mm, 37 Nm

     

101. Install 3rd row seat cushion
     Note

     2x securing tabs, Feed cushion harness's below 3rd row seat backs

     

     

102. Connect 3rd row seat assembly connections and secure to brackets
     Note

     11x connectors, Slide connectors onto bracket tabs to secure

     

     

103. Install 3rd row seat harness trays
     Note

     4x push clips

     

     

104. Install trunk carpet

     

     

     

105. Install trunk tub floor insulator

     

     

106. Install lower trunk pocket load floor

     

107. Install trunk pocket load floor

     

108. Install trunk rear load floor

     

109. Connect the First Responder Loop and LV battery connector.

     

     

110. Install the rear underhood apron.

     

     

111. Close the hood.
112. Close liftgate

     

113. Verify operation of vehicle charging system

     

114. Close charge port door

     

115. Move LH Monopost seat to original position

     

116. Install LH rear sill assembly
     Note

     8x clips, 1x datum, 1 tab

     

     

     

117. Calibrate the LH falcon wing door.

     

118. Calibrate the RH falcon wing door.

     

119. Move the LH front seat to its original position.
120. Raise all four windows

     

121. Close the LH front door.
