Module - Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) - Front (Remove and Replace)

Remove

  1. Remove the front fascia assembly. See Fascia Assembly - Front (Remove and Install).
  2. Disconnect the front BLE module electrical connector.

    CAUTION
    DO NOT push down on the red locking tab. Pull the tab away from the connector until the connector is unlocked, and then continue pulling to release the connector.
  3. Remove the screw and release the tabs (x6) that attach the front fascia T-badge support to the front fascia assembly, and then remove the T-badge support from the front fascia.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 socket
  4. Remove the screws (x2) that attach the front fascia V-bar to the front fascia T-badge support.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 socket
  5. Release the clips (x4) that attach the front fascia V-bar to the front fascia T-badge support, and then remove the V-bar from the T-badge support.
  6. Remove the screws (x2) that attach the front BLE module to the front fascia T-badge support, and then remove the module from the assembly.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 socket

Install

  1. Position the front BLE module onto the front fascia T-badge support, and then install the screws (x2) that attach the module to the assembly.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 socket
  2. Position the front fascia V-bar onto the front fascia T-badge support, and then secure the clips (x4) that attach the V-bar to the T-badge support.
  3. Install the screws (x2) that attach the front fascia V-bar to the front fascia T-badge support.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 socket
  4. Position the front fascia T-badge support assembly onto the front fascia assembly, and then install the screw and secure the tabs (x6) that attach the T-badge support to the front fascia.
    3 Nm (2.2 lbs-ft)
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T25 socket
  5. Connect the front BLE module electrical connector, and then engage the locking tab.
  6. Install the front fascia assembly. See Fascia Assembly - Front (Remove and Install).
  7. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  8. Click the Actions tab, and then search for "Service-Redeploy".
  9. Click SERVICE CAN REDEPLOY, and then click Run and allow the routine to complete.

    Note
    Select "X" at top right of window to close once complete. The routine will state pass but the update will continue to run in the background. The UI will show update progress.
  10. In Toolbox, click TEST-SELF_VCSEC_X_ENDPOINT-COMMSearch for routine in ToolboxBLE Endpoint Communication Check, and then click Run Network and allow the routine to complete.

  11. Disconnect the laptop with Toolbox3 from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
