Sensor - Parking Distance - Inner - Rear (HW3) (Remove and Replace)

Note
This procedure is applicable to sensors S8, S9, S10, and S11.

Remove

  1. On the vehicle touchscreen, touch Controls > Service > Jack Mode to activate Jack Mode.
  2. Disconnect LV Power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  3. Remove the rear fascia assembly from the vehicle. See Fascia Assembly - Rear (Remove and Install).
  4. Release the connector lock, and then disconnect the rear inner parking distance sensor.

    CAUTION
    DO NOT push down on the red locking tab. Pull the tab away from the connector until the connector is unlocked, and then continue pulling to release the connector.
  5. Release the tabs that attach the rear inner parking distance sensor to the rear fascia assembly, and then remove the sensor from the assembly.

Install

  1. Install the rear inner parking distance sensor into the rear fascia.

    Note
    Verify the sensor is seated flush to rear fascia.
  2. Connect the rear inner parking distance sensor, and then engage the locking tab.
  3. Install the rear fascia assembly onto the vehicle. See Fascia Assembly - Rear (Remove and Install).
  4. Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).

    Note
    After connecting LV power, do not shift the vehicle to Drive until the Toolbox routine (further below) is performed. Failure to do so can trigger vehicle alerts.
  5. On the vehicle touchscreen, touch Controls > Service > Jack Mode to deactivate Jack Mode.
  6. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  7. In Toolbox, click the Actions tab, type TEST-RESET_PARKvia Toolbox: (link) into the search field, click TEST-RESET_PARKvia Toolbox: (link), click Run, and then allow the routine to complete.
  8. In Toolbox, click the Actions tab, type "USS Addresses" into the search field, click PROC_USM_REAR_PROGRAM-USS-ADDRESSESvia Toolbox: (link)via Service Mode: Driver Assist ➜ Sensors ➜ Program Rear USS, click Run, and then allow the routine to complete.
  9. Disconnect the laptop with Toolbox 3 from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
  10. Raise the front windows and close the LH front door.
