Brake Caliper - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace)

- 2023-10-16: Added step to make sure caliper piston face is aligned for Mando calipers.
- 2023-08-29: Updated caliper to knuckle torque spec.
- 2023-10-30 Update the torque of rear brake caliper to the knuckle.
Remove
- Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
- Raise and support the vehicle on a 2 post lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
- Release the park brake caliper using Toolbox. See Park Brake Caliper - Release.
- Remove the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).

Disconnect the EPB electrical
connector to the LH caliper motor.
NoteDisengage the locking tab, and then release the electrical connector.
- Remove the LH rear flexible brake hose. See Brake Hose - Flexible - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).

Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the
rear brake caliper to the rear knuckle, and then remove the caliper from the
vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- External Torx E18
NoteHang the caliper from the body, if not fully removing it.NoteRoute the caliper hose so that it does not get caught on the rear stabilizer bar.
Install

If a Mando caliper, perform these additional substeps.

Install the rear brake caliper to the
knuckle, and then secure the caliper with bolts (x2).Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- External Torx E18
- Install the LH rear flexible brake hose. See Brake Hose - Flexible - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).

Connect the LH EPB caliper electrical
connector.
NoteFully seat the electrical connector, and then engage the locking tab.
- Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Bleed the brakes. See Brake Fluid Bleed/Flush (Remove and Replace).
- Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH rear wheel. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Hold the brake pedal and shift into Park on the touchscreen to disable EPB service mode.
