Applique - B-Pillar - LH (Remove and Replace)

- 2023-06-21: Switch the steps so that DAS Reset occurs directly before the Camera Connection Test.
Remove
- Open the LH front door and lower the LH front window.
- Put the vehicle in Service Mode via touchscreen. See Service Mode (Enable and Disable).
- Open the LH rear door.

Release the tabs (x4) to partially remove the LH B-pillar applique seal from the
perimeter.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Plastic trim tool

Pull back the lower seal on the LH
B-pillar applique, and then remove the screws (x2) that attach the applique to the
vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T25 socket

Release the retaining clip that
attaches the LH B-Pillar applique to the body.
NoteThe clip is located about 80 mm below camera lens opening.Tip: Slide a plastic pry tool behind the applique seal and twist to release the clip.

Pull the LH B-pillar applique downward
to release the upper tab, and then pull the applique away from the body.
CAUTIONUse caution as the camera harness is still connected and does not have much slack.

Release the locking tabs, and then
disconnect the LH B-Pillar camera electrical connectors (x2).
Tip: Hold the applique away from body to gain better access to the camera connectors.

Remove the LH B-Pillar applique from
the vehicle.
NotePull the B-pillar applique seal away from the applique to release it. Start at the top and work around the applique.

For newer vehicles with HW4 only -
Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the camera to the B-pillar applique.NoteRemove the camera bolts, and then wiggle the camera to clear the O-ring from the B-pillar applique.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- TP8 - Mini ratchet bit set (1450424-00-A)
Install

For newer vehicles with HW4 only -
Install the bolts (x2) that attach the camera to the B-pillar
applique.
NoteWiggle the camera O-ring through the B-pillar applique, and then fasten the bolts.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- TP8 - Mini ratchet bit set (1450424-00-A)

Connect the LH B-Pillar camera
electrical connectors (x2), and then secure the locking tabs.
Tip: Hold the applique away from body to gain better access to the camera connectors.

Secure the applique seal into the LH
B-pillar applique.
NoteUse P-80 emulsifier to assist with seal installation.

Position the LH B-pillar applique onto
the vehicle, and then secure the clip that attaches the applique to the vehicle..
NoteBe sure to place the top of applique in position behind the upper seal. Insert the top tab first, and then push up and secure the lower clip.

Pull back the lower seal on the LH B-pillar applique, and then install the screws
(x2) that attach the applique to the vehicle.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Torx T25 socket

Secure the retaining tabs (x3) on the
lower portion of the LH B-Pillar applique seal.

Inspect the upper LH B-pillar applique
seal to make sure it is fully seated and adjust as necessary.

Secure the top triangle portion of the
LH B-Pillar applique seal into position against the body.

Reset the Driver Assistance
System (DAS).

Perform a Service CAN Redeploy.

For vehicles with HW4 cameras only
- Perform the following substeps:

For vehicles with HW3 cameras only
- Perform the following substeps:
- Disconnect the laptop with Toolbox 3 from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
- Close the LH rear door.
- Disable Service Mode. See Service Mode (Enable and Disable).
- Raise the LH front window and close the LH front door.
- Vehicle will need to be driven by customer to complete the calibration procedure. During this time, Autopilot functions will be temporarily unavailable.
