Air Suspension Lines - Rear (Remove and Replace)

- 1083876-00-A Air suspension nitrogen filling kit
- 1060071-00-A Torque wrench 1/4" hexagon (0.2 Nm-4 Nm)
Remove
- Open all four doors and the liftgate.
- Lower all four windows.
- Remove the LH and RH rocker panel moldings. See Molding - Rocker Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Raise and support the vehicle on a 2 post lift. See Raise Vehicle - 2 Post Lift.
- Remove all wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).
- Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
- In Toolbox, click the Actions tab, and then search for Thermal.

Click Start Thermal Fluid Fill/Drain (Coolant only), and then
click Run. Allow the routine to complete before continuing to the
next step.
NoteClick the X at the top right of window to close once complete.
- Click the Actions tab, and then search for TAS service mode.

Click PROC_TAS_X_ENTER-SERVICE-MODEvia Toolbox: (link), and then click Run. Allow the routine to
complete before continuing to the next step.
NoteClick the X at the top right of window to close once complete.
- Click the Actions tab, and then search for Deflate.

Click PROC_TAS_X_DEFLATEvia Toolbox: (link)via Service Mode: Chassis ➜ Suspension ➜ Deflate, and
then click Run.
Allow the routine to complete before continuing to the next step.
NoteClick the X at the top right of window to close once complete.
- Disconnect the laptop from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).
- Move the driver and front passenger seats fully forward.
- Remove the LH and RH rear sill panel trims. See Trim - Sill Panel - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the 2nd row floor mat.
- Remove the 2nd row mid floor panel. See Floor Panel - Mid - 2nd Row (6 Seat) (Remove and Replace).
- Move the 2nd row LH and RH seats forward.
- Remove the LH side rear trunk garnish. See Garnish - Rear Trunk - Side - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH mid C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Mid - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH lower C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the 2nd row rear floor panel. See Floor Panel - Rear - 2nd Row (6 Seat) (Remove and Replace).

Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the
LH 3rd row busbar duct to the body, and then remove the duct from the vehicle.
Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 4 in extension
- 10 mm socket
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- Remove the underhood storage unit access panel. See Underhood Storage Unit Access Panel (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install).
- Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
- Remove the mid aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Mid (Remove and Replace).
- Remove the LH and RH rear subframe shear plates. See Shear Plate - Rear Subframe - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Perform Vehicle HV Disablement Procedure. See Vehicle HV Disablement Procedure.
- Remove the front body controller module. See Module - Body Controller - Front (Remove and Replace).

Remove the nuts (x2) that attach the
rear air lines to the valve block.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm 12-point combination wrench
NoteRemove the rear air suspension line fittings from the valve block, green (RR) and brown (RL) pressure lines. -
Release the clips (x4) that attach the
rear air suspension lines to the hood compartment.

Route the rear air suspension lines
toward the RH front wheelhouse.
NoteManeuver the rear air suspension lines under the superbeam towards the RH front wheel arch house.

Remove the bolt that attaches the
busbar HV connector lid.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
-
Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the
HV connector to the DC FC header.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
Note2x bolts, 10mm, 9 Nm -
Remove the HV connector from the DC FC
header.

Release the clips (x7) and fan clip
that attach the rear portion of the RH front wheel arch liner to the body, and then
carefully rest the rear portion of arch liner on the brake rotor.
-
Release the clips (x3) that attach the
rear air suspension lines behind the RH front wheel liner.
-
Pull the rear air suspension lines out
of the wheelhouse.
NoteUse caution when pulling to avoid damaging the air suspension lines.
- Remove the HV battery. See HV Battery (AWD) (Remove and Install).

Remove the rear valance bolts (x2) to
gain access to the LH rear air suspension line.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket

Release the clips (x3) that attach the
rear air suspension line from behind the rear subframe.
NoteHold down the valance to access the clips.

Release the push clips (x7) and fan
clips (x2) that attach the rear portion of the LH rear wheel arch liner.
NoteOnce the clips are removed, rest the arch liner on the rotor back plate to create working space.

Release the clips (x3) that attach the
rear air suspension lines the LH rear wheelhouse.
-
Remove the nut that attaches the LH
rear air pressure line strut fitting to the body.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
NoteGuide the air pressure line out of the wheelhouse. - Remove the RH rear wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).

Release the clips (x10) that attach
the rear air suspension lines to the RH rear wheelhouse.
-
Remove the nut that attaches the RH
rear air suspension line to the strut fitting.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket
NoteGuide the air suspension line out of the wheelhouse. -
Route both rear air suspension lines
towards the RH side of the vehicle.
NoteManeuver the LR and RR air suspension lines through the wheel housing to the RH side of the vehicle body.

Release the clips (x7) that attach the
rear air suspension lines from the RH side of the vehicle body, and then remove the
lines from the vehicle.
Install
-
Install the rear air suspension lines
to the RH side of the vehicle body, and then secure it with clips (x7).
-
Route both rear air suspension lines
towards the rear of the vehicle.
NoteManeuver the rear air suspension lines through wheel arch housing towards both rear struts.

Fasten the clips (x3) that attach the
rear air suspension lines behind the rear subframe.
NoteHold down the valance to access the clips.
-
Install the bolts (x2) that attach the
rear of the valance.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm socket

Install the clips (x3) that attach the
rear air suspension lines to the LH rear wheelhouse.
-
Install new 4 mm VOSS line fittings
(x2) to the LH and RH rear struts.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm crowfoot socket
- 10 mm 12-point combination wrench

Install the LH rear air pressure line
strut fitting nut.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm crowfoot socket
- 10 mm 12-point combination wrench
- Torque wrench 1/4" hexagon (0.2Nm-4Nm) (1060071-00-A)
NoteRemove the fitting insert.NoteFully insert the air line into the fitting. It should sit between the two white marks on the air lines. Verify air lines are properly seated by performing push-pull test. -
Fasten the push clips (x7) and fan
clips (x2) that attach the rear portion of the LH rear wheel arch liner.

Fasten the clips (x10) that attach the
rear air suspension lines to the RH rear wheel housing.
-
Install the RH rear air pressure line
to strut fitting nut.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm crowfoot socket
- 10 mm 12-point combination wrench
- Torque wrench 1/4" hexagon (0.2Nm-4Nm) (1060071-00-A)
- Install the RH rear wheel arch liner. See Wheel Arch Liner - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).

Route the rear air suspension lines
into the hood compartment.
CAUTIONDo not damage the air suspension lines.NoteMake sure to push the air suspension lines as far in to the hood area as you possibly can.

Fasten the clips (x3) that attach the
rear air suspension lines to the body behind the RH front wheel arch liner.
-
Fasten the clips that attach the rear
portion of the RH front wheel liner.
-
Route the rear air suspension lines
into the hood area.
NoteManeuver the air suspension lines from behind the superbeam towards the air suspension valve block.
-
Fasten the clips (x4) that attach the
rear air suspension lines in the hood compartment.
-
Install new VOSS fittings (x2) to the
valve block for the rear air suspension lines.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm crowfoot socket
- 10 mm 12-point combination wrench
CAUTIONPay attention not to cross thread the air line fittings. -
Install the rear air suspension lines
(x2) into the valve block.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 10 mm 12-point combination wrench
- Torque wrench 1/4" hexagon (0.2Nm-4Nm) (1060071-00-A)
NoteGreen (RR) and brown (RL) pressure lines - Install the front body controller module. See Module - Body Controller - Front (Remove and Replace).
- Install the HV battery. See HV Battery (AWD) (Remove and Install).
- Install all wheels. See Wheel Assembly (Remove and Install).

Set up the nitrogen tank kit
(1083876-00-A) to fill the superbeam reservoir.
NoteVerify the valves are set to the closed position on the tank, regulator, and the air line.

Connect the nitrogen tank hose to the
reservoir.
-
Open the valve on the nitrogen tank
and set the pressure to 18 Bar using the regulator.
NoteSlowly open the valve and adjust the regulator.NoteVerify pressure is set to 18 Bar

Open the valve on the nitrogen tank
hose.
-
Verify the pressure holds on the
regulator valve gauge.
Note18 BarNoteIf the pressure does not hold, there may be a leak present.
- Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
- Re-establish vehicle connection to Toolbox 3.
- Click the Actions tab, and then search for TAS service mode.

Click PROC_TAS_X_ENTER-NORMAL-MODEvia Toolbox: (link), and then click Run. Allow the routine to

- Disconnect the laptop from the vehicle. See Toolbox 3 (Connect and Disconnect).

Remove the air suspension from "Jack
Mode."
-
Access the thermal system routines
using the touchscreen.
NoteTouch > Service Mode > Diagnostics > Thermal.NoteAuthorize routines by holding the right turn signal and press the brake pedal for 10 seconds with the key on the phone dock.

Touch the Start button at the "Start
Coolant Air Purge" section using the touchscreen, and then the
"TEST_VCFRONT_X_THERMAL-COOLANT-AIR-PURGEvia Toolbox: (link)via Service Mode:
- Thermal ➜ Actions ➜ Coolant Purge Stop or Coolant Purge Start
- Thermal ➜ Coolant System ➜ Coolant Purge Start
- Drive Inverter ➜ Front Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ Coolant Air Purge
- Drive Inverter ➜ Rear Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ Coolant Air Purge
- Drive Inverter ➜ Rear Left Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ Coolant Air Purge
- Drive Inverter ➜ Rear Right Drive Inverter Replacement ➜ Coolant Air Purge
- Drive Unit ➜ Front Drive Unit Replacement ➜ Coolant Air Purge
- Drive Unit ➜ Rear Drive Unit Replacement ➜ Coolant Air Purge
NoteThe coolant pumps will be audible.NoteThe test lasts approximately 10 minutes. Monitor the levels as required. Touch the X at top left of window to close once completed.CAUTIONShifting the vehicle into Drive will stop this routine. -
Install the bolts (x2) that attach the
LH 3rd row busbar duct to the body.Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 4 in extension
- 10 mm socket
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- Install the 2nd row rear floor panel. See Floor Panel - Rear - 2nd Row (6 Seat) (Remove and Replace).
- Install the 2nd row mid floor panel. See Floor Panel - Mid - 2nd Row (6 Seat) (Remove and Replace).
- Install the 2nd row floor mat.
- Install the LH lower C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH mid C-pillar trim. See Trim - C-Pillar - Mid - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Install the LH side rear trunk garnish. See Garnish - Rear Trunk - Side - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Restore the LH and RH 2nd row seats back to their original position.
- Install the LH and RH rear sill panel trims. See Trim - Sill Panel - Rear - LH (Remove and Replace).
- Restore the driver and front passenger seats back to their original position.
- Install the LH and RH rocker panel moldings. See Molding - Rocker Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).

Calibrate the LH and RH rear
doors.
NoteIf the "Calibration Needed" message appears on the vehicle touchscreen, touch and hold Calibrate to calibrate the rear doors.
- Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install).
- Install the underhood storage unit access panel. See Underhood Storage Unit Access Panel (Remove and Replace).
- Raise all four windows.
- Close all four doors.
