Actuator - Duct - Footwell - RH (Remove and Replace)

Correction code 18108712 0.36 NOTE: Unless otherwise explicitly stated in the procedure, the above correction code and FRT reflect all of the work required to perform this procedure, including the linked procedures. Remove

  1. Open the RH front door.
  2. Move the front passenger seat rearward.
  3. Remove the RH front floor mat.
  4. Remove the passenger footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Passenger (Remove and Replace).
  5. Remove the RH center console side panel carpet. See Carpet - Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace)
  6. Remove the RH front sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)
  7. Remove the RH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Remove the RH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Remove the RH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  10. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  11. Disconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  12. Remove the front passenger knee airbag assembly. See Knee Airbag - Front Passenger (Remove and Replace).

    Note
    It is not necessary to remove components from the airbag assembly after the assembly has been removed from the instrument panel.
  13. Remove the screws (x2) that attach the RH footwell duct actuator to the HVAC assembly, and then release the actuator from the assembly.
    2.3 Nm (1.7 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Take note of the direction of the keyed socket.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
  14. Disconnect the RH footwell duct actuator electrical connector, and then remove the actuator from the vehicle.

Install

  1. Position the RH footwell duct actuator into the vehicle, and then connect the electrical connector.
  2. Position the RH footwell duct actuator to the HVAC assembly, and then install the screws (x2) that attach the actuator to the assembly.
    2.3 Nm (1.7 lbs-ft)

    Note
    Note the keyed socket angle upon installation matches the actuator.
    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:
    • Torx T20 socket
  3. Install the front passenger knee airbag assembly. See Knee Airbag - Front Passenger (Remove and Replace).
  4. Install the RH center console side panel carpet. See Carpet - Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace)
  5. Install the passenger footwell cover. See Cover - Footwell - Passenger (Remove and Replace).
  6. Install the RH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace).
  7. Install the RH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace).
  8. Install the RH instrument panel end cap. See End Cap - Instrument Panel - LH (Remove and Replace).
  9. Install the RH front sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Front - LH (Remove and Replace)
  10. Install the RH front floor mat.
  11. Connect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect).
  12. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace).
  13. Move the front passenger seat to the original position.
  14. Calibrate the rear doors.
