Remove
- Open the LH and RH front doors.
- Lower the LH and RH front windows.
- Open the LH and RH falcon wing doors.
- Remove the LH 2nd row seat underbelly trim. See Trim - Underbelly - 2nd Row Seat - LH (6 Seat) (Remove and Replace).

Release the tabs (x14) and J clips
(x2) that attach the lower cushion upholstery to the bottom of the seat frame.
CAUTIONUse the 90 degree pick to release the J clips only. The lower cushion upholstery could be damaged by poking a hole through it.NoteRelease the tabs and J clip at the outboard LH rear corner of the seat frame first, and then work towards the inboard RH rear corner.NoteSome vehicles may have tape in the seat frame area that must be cut to perform this step.NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- 6 in 90 degree tip miniature soft grip pick
- Plastic trim tool
- Retractable blade/knife

Fold the seat cushion backwards.

Remove the screws (x4) that attach the
plastic base to the seat frame.
NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- Torx T25 socket

Lift the plastic base sightly upwards,
slide the inflatable air bag between the base and the seat frame, and then inflate the
air bag to lift the plastic base enough to remove the LH 2nd row pitch strut rod
assembly from the frame.
NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Inflatable air bag

Remove the metal push nut and spacer
that attach the LH 2nd row pitch strut rod assembly to the pitch motor.
NotePry the nut upwards from each side and apply downward pressure to the top of the strut rod to remove the nut.NoteDiscard the nut after removal.NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Clip pry tool

Disconnect the hall effect sensor
connector.
NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Pocket screwdriver

Remove the bolts (x2) and nuts (x2)
that attach the LH 2nd row pitch strut rod assembly to the seat frame.
NoteCounter hold the nuts with a combination wrench during bolt removal.NoteDiscard the bolts after removal.NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Combination wrench 12pt 13mm
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- Torx T45 socket

Remove and discard the bolts (x2) that
attach the LH 2nd row pitch strut rod assembly adapter to the strut rod.
NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- Torx T45 socket

Position the gearbox onto the lower
portion of lead screw.
NoteThe lead screw is keyed.

Remove the gearbox lead screw from the
LH 2nd row pitch strut rod assembly tube.
NoteTurn the upper portion of the lead screw counter clockwise, and then once unthreaded, pull outward to remove.
Install

Position the gearbox lead screw into
the LH 2nd row pitch strut rod assembly tube, and then turn clockwise to attach the lead
screw to the tube.

Position the gearbox onto the upper
portion of lead screw.
NoteThe lead screw is keyed.

Install the new bolts (x2) that attach
the LH 2nd row pitch strut rod assembly adapter to the strut rod.
8 Nm (5.9 lbs-ft)NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- ¼ in to 3/8 in adapter
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- Torx T45 socket

Install the new bolts (x2) and nuts
(x2) that attach the LH 2nd row pitch strut rod assembly to the seat frame.
20 Nm (14.7 lbs-ft)NoteUse a combination wrench to hold on to each nut from underneath during bolt installation.NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- Combination wrench 12pt 13mm
- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- Torx T50 socket

Slide the LH 2nd row pitch strut rod
assembly through the pitch motor, and then install the metal push nut and spacer that
attach the strut rod to the motor.
NoteUse the clip pry tool to push against the nut while applying pressure to bottom side of strut rod.NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:
- Clip pry tool
- Rectangular inspection mirror

Remove the inflatable air bag from the
plastic base and seat frame, and then install the screws (x4) that attach the base to
the frame.
2 Nm (1.5 lbs-ft)NoteUse of the following tool(s) is recommended:- Flex head ratchet/flex head torque wrench
- Ratchet/torque wrench
- Torx T25 socket

Install the tabs (x14) and J clips
(x2) that attach the lower cushion upholstery to the bottom of the seat frame.
NotePrior to installation, make sure that the tabs and J clips are spread evenly to avoid excess wrinkles in the lower cushion upholstery.NoteInstall the tabs and J clip at the inboard RH rear corner of the seat frame first, and then work towards the outboard LH rear corner.
- Install the LH 2nd row seat underbelly trim. See Trim - Underbelly - 2nd Row Seat - LH (6 Seat) (Remove and Replace).
- Perform the following routine using Service Mode or Toolbox (see 0005 - Service Modes): PROC_BCS2L_R2-L_CALIBRATE-S2L-PITCHvia Toolbox:(link)
- Perform the following routine using Service Mode or Toolbox (see 0005 - Service Modes): PROC_BCS2L_R2-L_CALIBRATE-S2L-TRACKvia Toolbox:(link)
- Close the LH and RH falcon wing doors.
- Raise the LH and RH front windows.
- Close the LH and RH front doors.
